Summary

I’m not frightened of you

You are

I’ve faced worse

You haven’t

Although Psychic Surveys remain busy, there’s been no real cases lately to get their teeth into, logical explanations found for most hauntings. That all changes when Ruby gets a call from Conor Byrne, who lives in the Republic of Ireland. The fear in his voice is genuine.

Ruby, Theo, Ness and Corinna head over to the Emerald Isle to help Conor, and, of course, the distressed spirit – their aim to bring peace to the living and the dead. They arrive to find a dilapidated cottage in a rural area, and a man that’s barely alive.

Conor is right to be scared, the spirit haunting him is particularly vicious, anger from beyond the grave lending her immense strength. But not only are the team dealing with her, they’re dealing with lies too, from Conor, a man who insists he has no idea why the spirit has targeted him, that he’s innocent of any wrongdoing.

And then there’s Dervla Fitzgerald, the landlady of the nearby pub where they’re staying – a woman that sits in the darkness, who’s used to it. But why?

Hounded out of the cottage by psychic activity, the team and Conor all take refuge at the pub one cold and misty night. It’s there that the past finally unravels, with truths laid bare.

And they’re worse than anyone can imagine.
