About this listen
Julian
This week hasn’t gone the best for me unless you count Casimir, the sexy ancient vampire, bringing me back from the brink of death (and tying my fate to his in the process). Not that it matters if the werewolves and vampires don’t stop their ridiculous feud, because someone is targeting them and widening the divide between our communities with each body they leave in their wake.
But as the alpha’s son, I have a plan to fix everything. I’m going to convince Casimir to fake date me to show the others that we can work together.
I mean… what could go wrong?
Casimir
Everything.
Literally everything could go wrong. Who is actually going to believe that I want this joke-cracking, cute werewolf tagging alongside me?
Honestly, do I even care if people get along? I really think I have much more important things to do than going on hardware store dates, learning the torturous art of holding hands, and attending awkward family dinners, like… staring at my dog… and… I’m sure there’s something else.
Okay, fine, maybe this whole fake dating scheme isn’t the worst idea that I’ve come across in the past five hundred years, but it’s definitely in the running. The two of us are just going to have a bit of fun while I stop whoever’s hunting down the vampires and werewolves… right?
Fake Dates and Fanged Mistakes has a sunshiny yet stubborn werewolf who just wants everyone to get along, dang it; a bored vampire who isn't nearly as aloof as he wants to appear; paper napkins trying (and failing) to stand in for clothes; some awesome swordsmanship; and the last thing you’d expect to find in a secret cupboard.

fun story, light hearted despite the murderous mayhem
snarky cute werewolf, dark and danegous vampire, murderous turf wars and romance.
may take a bit to get used to the pacing (could benefit from a breath between scenes sometimes).
distinct character voices.

I love how much Casimir hates Steve
Hilarious banter and a fun action in true Alice Winters fashion. Vamps and weres, cute grumpy/sunshiny coupling and interesting world. Perfect narration.

I loved the book but the audiobook was next level. Michael really brings the characters to life and made the funny scenes even funnier .

comedy over love
This book is great. The humor is hilarious, and cynical. The characters, even the extras, are amazing, tho sometimes their personalities mix and you can't tell who is who because they all have the same humor. I love that there's a plot beyond their romance because that makes the story grip your attention.
Tho if you're looking for a romance that will make you feel in love and flushed, this book is not for you. Think 95% detective story with 5% of semi-romance.
After a few chapters it's clear the author can't write anything that's not comedy. Their sex scenes and any "steamy" moments are beyond terrible. A 20 min sex scene is 2 min of actual sex and 18 minutes of them interrupting themselves with jokes and "quirky" comments. They're so badly written that you feel no excitement or giddiness and instead you just want them to be over.

Another winters winner!
I was so excited for this to come out on audible and wasn't disappointed.
Fantastic storyline with perfect narration.
Alice Winters couldn't write a bad story if she tried.

Fantastic
I'd already read the ebook of Fake Dates and Fanged Mistakes and it felt like I'd been waiting for the audio for ages - It certainly didn't disappoint. Michael Ferraiuolo did a fantastic job (as always) bringing the characters to life.

Alice Winters never misses.
I genuinely don’t think I’ll ever dislike an Alice Winters book. I’ve only very recently gotten into audiobooks but I definitely think I’m hooked, the voice acting for each character was great and I’m excited for more antics from these two!

Not for me
I found it difficult at times to tell which of the characters was speaking and the narration was way over the top. That quickly became tiring to listen too.
The characters had little depth, the dialogue was painful. Less snark and more character and plot development would have helped. I gave up an hour before the end.
