About this listen

Expressions of Poetry by Montice Harmon is a beautiful collection of semi-confessional poems that speak about the poet's trials and tribulations. The poems are a kind of motivation for depressed minds and discouraged people to rise above their problems and face the world with a positive attitude.

Most of Harmon's poems are prose poems. He takes prose poems to another level with this collection. The poems all deal with some aspect of the poet's personal struggles - his joys and sorrows - and they connect you with his spirit and inner mind.

Poetry need not be confessional all the time, but it can most often be the result of some soul-searching or some emotions that are embedded in the poet's mind.

Many poems are inspiring for the listener. They help the listener to come to terms with personal tragedies and rise above them.

Glad I Gave It A Try!!!

What a wonderful audiobook filled with wonders, hopes and what seems the American dream. However, because of the history of his ancestors it has torn his culture and race in all a part. His words are deep and the topics are very modern day. Very common in the states. I feel his pain and struggles for a better world. I think when we all do we would be better off...

Genuine Poems of Life!

As I expected, this book was great. Having been chosen and giving five stars by Reader's Favorite because of the poets genuine confessions. I see why and found it to be inspiring, insightful and important.

The Black Poets American Dream..

Harmon finds prose-poetry as an infinite strength to express towards rejecting gang violence, drugs, fatherless and abandon children while examining historical injustice acts towards black people all around the world.

He explores and speak the mordern day doctrines very relative to the great Black American leaders such as Malcolm X and Dr. King.

Harmon's calm distinctive demeanour is appealing to the lyrical onslaughts comforting the nature of his poetic subject matter. His words are promising.
