About this listen

The Kennedy stares into the abyss

The world's last floating nuclear supercarrier looks into the face of oblivion as her thinned, exhausted, and beleaguered crew face the largest herd of dead ever recorded. Soon, the ship's five-acre flight deck will become the scene of a furious and desperate set-piece battle - like no combat any modern army has seen since Stalingrad. The ranks of the dead are infinite, and those of the living are tiny, depleted, and running out of time... and of hope.

The abandoned run ahead of the storm

Surrounded, cut off, and left for dead, Wesley's band of sailors and survivors race ahead of the city-devouring swarm, desperate for a way off the land. Air strikes and shore bombardment threaten to vaporize them at any instant. The inlet onto which they flee is surrounded on all sides and filling up fast, and the least hesitation will get them all killed, infected, devoured - or all three at once.

The operators jump into mouth of hell

Having already dodged a hundred deaths by inches, the operators of Alpha team and MARSOC now fly into two converging storms of unspeakable violence and must parachute in and reinforce the Alamo - the hopeless and doomed defense of the carrier. A thousand things must go right for them to have a prayer of survival. But it's the job of the operators to succeed even when a million things go wrong...

Ride the human spirit to its utmost limit in the most terrifying and thrilling Arisen book yet: Arisen, Book Five - Exodus.

A Genuine High Quality Series

This series just keeps on giving, it's consistently of high quality and the easy summary is that if you liked the previous books, you will like this one too. The zombies keep developing in terms of how they stalk our human heroes and at times the flight for the flight deck was reminiscent of World War Z.

It's gripping stuff. There were one or two strange moves by the characters that were hard to explain for such high level professionals but war is often as much about stupidity under pressure losing the day as it is about brilliant tactics bringing victory so I think the authors can be allowed this.

Narration remains very good. Only complaint I can have about this series is that I want MORE than is currently available!

Utterly brilliant

The story from hell continues with no let up for both the Kennedy and Alfa team. Another brilliant performance by RC Bray.

Pretty damn good

I have enjoyed the series so far but it definitely gets better as they go on.

This one has a slower start but gets balls deep soon after. Overall some pretty intense and good stuff. My personal favourite part was preds utter destruction of the dead and turning the tide halfway through the fight for ammo city.

Would recommend, slightly better than the previous books.

Love it honest

This is honestly the BEST zombie series ever - it’s so much more than zombies the characters have depth and story just gets better and better

Heading in a great direction....

If you could sum up Exodus in three words, what would they be?

Fast, exciting, tiring...

What was one of the most memorable moments of Exodus?

There were too many parts to list, but I can’t help but think that the authors may have paid some homage to ‘The war of the Worlds’ (book version) perhaps with the callsign of the fighter plane that saves the tiny yacht when it is trying to make its way out to open water…… There were others, but that one stuck….

Which scene did you most enjoy?

The battle on the flight deck was very gripping with some fast passed action. The description of the multitude of dead trying to overrun the deck was reminiscent of the scenes in World War Z (film version) where the dead overran the walls around Israel. There were a few things that they (the character’s) seemed very slow in putting into action or even thinking about that seemed quite obvious to me, but I shan’t say what they were, you will have to listen to it yourselves without me picking at it! The Arisen series are one of my most favourite zombie stories ever, and I’m keen to see how things pan out in the next book and anticipate running into Zak from Genesis. Excellent.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Finding and saving the dam dog.

Any additional comments?

All in all I am very pleased with the entire series. Yes there are some parts that make you question the occasional stupidity of the Operators when seemingly obvious mistakes and errors are made, but it is a story. It is designed to drag you in and occasionally curse and shout "You idiots!", but that is what a good story is supposed to do. If you haven't tried any others, then "The Remaining" by D.J. Molles is also panning out very well. Also "Plague of the Dead" by Z.A.Recht was very enjoyable and only overshadowed by the authors sad and untimely death before he could finish anymore. RIP Mr.Recht. Then there is “We’re Alive” and of course “The Walking Dead”. Listen to them all…..

Awesome!

I really hoped we'd follow Sarah and Homer to some extent through this last book and maybe even some of this, but we didn't.

I did enjoy this a lot, the action was totally intense, will they, won't they. Just brilliant and totally had me on the edge of my seat. However, that ending, so worth it. This was one of the more exciting parts to this series, at least so far for me. I'm wondering how on earth the authors manage to keep up this level of intensity, but they really do a great job.

RC is also one of the best narrators I've listened to, I love his Yorkshire and English accents, yeah maybe not quite what I'm used to as I live here, but they're pretty realistic. :)

100 million zombies

If you’re a fan of the series?
You won’t be disappointed in this Book, I guarantee it.
When a 100million zombies literally walk on water? And even though the Floating city has less than half its residence!.

it’s all hands on deck to fight The population of half a continent Long enough to find a way to get 110,000 ton Ford class supercarrier that is beach .
Buy somehow starting her nuclear reactors. However with all of the nuclear reactor technicians who were all killed in the mutiny. It’s left to a Royal engineer Who is completely out of his depth The same man who saved the ship by shutting down the reactors during the mutiny.
Is told it’s up to him To find a way of saving the ship!. But he somehow manages to save in more ways than one.

With the virus continuingly mutating so far there are three different types of ZE each in a unique way and so far 2 The fast ZE And the terrifying knew well they thought they were Knew type of ZE’s?
Where will the series go with a new and even more terrifying unstoppable Type of ZE We will just have to wait-and-see. IF you’re new to the franchise like I am The only complaint is there are nearly 20 books in the series a prequel book 📚 and three standalone books that 17 and counting I may have missed two or three A can’t remember how many because there’s so many so far and some of them seem to be just short in the reviews they could’ve just been a couple of chapters in the other books . However so far the Series so far I have no complaints.

One of the reasons I like this series is Because of the attention to detail to the smallest detail and the realism when it comes down to the little things if that’s possible in this type of genre.

In the worldwide phenomenon the AMC zombie first comic series. Then. The now legendary TV. Series and possibly movie! It’s turned into a Juggernaut. In the TV series the characters get Coved in Gore Saturated in blood in their faces on a regular basis!? However for some reason in the AMC apocalypse as long as you’re not bitten or die the only thing you have to worry about is the a Big enough Heard of walkers to cause you problems. And all the humans seem to be the main threat.

However this series shows you that even a microscopic drop of the virus blood or spitil or even a microscopic scratch you wouldn’t even notice but if any of these things unless you’re amazingly Lucky🍀 that scratchy will seal your fate?
To avoid contracting this continuing to Mutate in more and more strange ways and The mutations are shortening the time from contraction From days to hours to who knows min’s in the future!?

Basically causing the time from infection to full blown ZE is getting shorter and shorter ? The virus is 1 billion times smaller than a human. its just takes some Droplets of saliva can seal your fate unluckily just getting into your 👁 eye’s A tear duct you wouldn’t even notice.
It Is enough to eventually seal your fate? Binging totally oblivious until the FeverKicks in 🤒 🥵 and the black lines like spider webs start to appear on your skin that’s when you know it’s not a summer cold you are succumbing to the virus 🦠 and 🔜 you will transform becoming one of the undead horde of 7 billion Reanimated corpses I think that must’ve gone through The mind of most people who are a fan of this type of genre What would it be like everyone must’ve thought about it?

However hope is not lost they found the last doctor on Earth who has the capability of producing a vaccine is the only trouble this super elite seemingly unstoppable unique unit it’s starting to fracture on the endless impossible missions!….

When in the walking dead someone is caked in blood 🩸 When they have heard them say I better wash it off after they’ve been completely contaminated from head to foot it makes me laugh every time the character says that after they do battle with the walkers? I recommend this and definitely the one that came before this one they’re hilarious gory and plenty of action But this is synonymous with the franchise so far But this book out of all the books I give this one a definite five stars out of five thank you if you have read this please excuse my punctuation’.
