Solid 4.7 Experience!
It's been a long time since an audiobook gripped me the way this one did. From the start I was deeply engaged thanks to the beautiful, provocative, vivid prose. The tension was great, and the base scenario felt unique and interesting. Viscerally described with unique character archetypes I wanted to discover more about.
Lu Banks' narration was superb, and I feel like she is one to pay attention to for upcoming audiobooks! I'd love to listen to more narrated by her, as she knocked this out of the park. Extremely smooth and very well acted. Nice clear quality recording.The characters had easily distinguishable voices, and the emotion in the performance overall really helped to imprint this story upon me, getting me to feel it in a way I might not have had someone else been narrating.
The story itself started strong. I enjoyed the base scenario, and the tension of needing to find out more about our MC's. The tension of finding out what would happen once they were in each other's sphere. The development of the romance felt engaging for the most part, and the sex was so well described I found myself aroused more than once. It was infused with emotion and narrative, which made the bdsm aspects much more pallatable for me. It was hot! There were a couple moments where I felt less engaged, but it worked itself around where I was deeply engaged again towards the latter middle and the end of the story. The ending felt slightly abrupt, but not enough to mark this down. I feel like I got the picture, but I'd still love a sequel to see where Astrid and Tara ended up and what they're up to. This may be the best story from Hildren Billings and Cynthia Dane I've come upon yet.

more
there has to be a sequel, an amazing story dealt with writing so intense and emotional, well drawn out, the unfortunate fact many women go to such lengths to pay debts is portrayed with a dignity, the bdsm is not overpowering but still arousing, our mcs' are very indepth both with thier scars and strength, the narration is excellent and adds the audible dimension many do not, a beautiful romance from adversity which made me cry , but also smiling and lustful, a remarkable book.

Emotionally charged age-gap romance
This is my favourite Dane/Billings novel to date. The story will not disappoint readers who love steamy, age-gap romances with a BDSM twist. Astrid and Tara’s story is both intriguing and thought provoking. The book is beautifully written and flows wonderfully from scene to scene. I found the end a little rushed, but it did not spoil my enjoyment. Lu Banks does an excellent job with the narration really bringing the characters to,life.
