About this listen

A hilarious new standalone novella brimming with otherworldly charm from the reigning queen of paranormal romantic comedy Molly Harper!

Ingrid Asher is the newest resident of Mystic Bayou, a tiny town hidden in the swamp where shapeshifters, vampires, witches and dragons live alongside humans.

Ingrid doesn’t ask for much. The solitary tree nymph just wants to live a quiet life running her ice-cream shop in peace. Unfortunately, she can’t seem to shake her new neighbor, Rob Aspern, head of the League’s data science department and so good looking it just isn’t fair.

If there’s one thing Ingrid doesn’t need, it’s someone poking around in her business. But the more she gets to know the hunky mathematician, the more she finds herself letting her guard down. Can she trust him with her secrets, or will her past destroy everything?

Despite being a Novella - This is the best!

I’m curious to know why the blurb calls these books ‘Hilarious’? Of the bocks on the series thus far, this is the most amusing. Both Zed and Irene have funny lines and incidents(Zed), but they’re not necessarily constantly hilarious.

Notwithstanding the above, I think that this has been the most moving story of the series thus far, despite it being a Novella. (Or maybe because of it). There is more story to be told about these two. It definitely leaves you wanting more.

Good Listen

Loved meeting the new characters in this short book. It had fluffy and funny moments that were bought to life by two amazing narrators - they both did an amazing job narrating for both male & female characters as each chapter alternates POVs

Easy Read

It's not my favourite book from the series but it does give a unique insight into some less popular characters. It was a very short read and not very climactic. It's a good, easy book to listen to while you're busy. I always enjoy the light hearted and humorous writing of this author.

good story

loved the story, easy to listen to.
I don't mind the different points of view but the narration by different people is not necessary for me. Especially because it's written in he/she said and not I said.

hilarious and lovely

the bluntness of ingrid is hilarious. completely captures the nature of Scandinavian people. although the tree nymph caginess did add to the story and general understanding of her character development. I do like her with Rob in general. however like all stories. I felt like the struggle between these characters, of miscommunication was just not enough. it just seemed a little rushed. I did enjoy the story and the overwhelming story of love and attraction rob and Ingrid though.

Funny & loveable characters

I have listened to the whole series so far, I do hope there's more to come, I've gotten to know & love the main characters. They are so funny, they all fit together perfectly and often make me laugh out loud or give a knowing nod to something one of them does, usually Bael or Zed. I would love to read a Mystic Bayou without a romance being the main story, I'm not really into romance stories but these characters kept me coming back time and time again and I honestly believe there's a funny and heart wrenching tale created around the magical group that Molly Harper has created. Lighthearted comedies that can be read individually but is definitely better read in order. 🤓 📖

Cosy romance with trees

The story is cosy and helped me through a sick day. Wonderfully read by these two narrators and a nice addition to the mystic bayou series.
