Summary
Alexander Scourby, a fine actor who also achieved excellence in the narration of documentaries, displays his art to full effect in these two Hemingway stories about the struggle of living and dying well - "The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber" and "The Snows of Kilimanjaro". His singular performance convinces the listener that these stories are meant to be heard aloud.
Through volume, inflection, and emphasis, Scourby makes the plots easy to follow as interior monologue and dialogue alternate. Both his men and women sound honest and convincing. Though the stories deal with emotionally intense situations, they both develop calmly through Scourby's subtleties of expression and deep sympathy for the characters. This performance is a must for connoisseurs of recorded literature.

Random pitch change
In the first story, the pitch drops massively for large chunks. The tempo also decreases massively

Why does the voice ger lower and lower?
The narration was ridiculous. It must be the recording because there are parts where it sounds normal but a lot of it sounds like the pitch was edited. I can't understand why.
