Disappointing 3rd book of series

3rd and final book in series, not suitable as a standalone read, yet doesn't flow smoothly from previous book. Characters got to know in previous books had no place in this one which was an added disappointment. Only reason I continued and finished listening to this was as always the narrator performance engaging and easy to listen to.

Ben Bova - an author of Great Stature.

Having listened to many of Ben Bova's writing's my only complaint is with myself for not discovering this brilliant author a long time ago.
I must also thank Stefan Rudnicki for his excellent narration.

Hasn’t aged well unfortunately

I stumbled across an article of many authors who had passed due to covid, and instantly noticed Ben Bova. As a teenager, I devoured books. They were little glimpses of wonderful or terrible things that the future will hold. Ben Bova was a favourite, and in the mid 90’s I had a fair collection of his works. I remembered the “Exiles” trilogy being especially interesting, as it spanned a story of three distinct parts over many centuries. Unfortunately, revisiting these 25-30 years later has shown me how dated the views of the characters in the books have become and they are painful to read/listen to now. The core story is still interesting but sadly, I no longer consider it something I would recommend.

Just about worth it

This is very much SF from the late sixties/early seventies but the story is quite good. I was dubious apart the start of the third book but it eventually made sense. Enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

Wasn’t expecting much but was good

Well I downloaded this just to see what it would be like I wasn’t expecting too much but the story was actually pretty original it was a bit daft in parts but it wasn’t anything unbelievable I really enjoyed it

Nothing special

Children on a broken generation ship. No humor, just the idiocy of men but with children.

Dull

Mono tone delivery, tedious and extremely dull managed 2 chapters before giving up on this.
