About this listen

Nobody knows what will happen in the next moment of our lives. Whatever is in store for us, the only thing we CAN be sure of is that nothing in life is certain. And since we all fear the unknown, life's uncertainty can be a constant source of worry to us.

But, as bestselling author Susan Jeffers explains, life doesn't have to be one worry after the next, a steady stream of 'what if's', and a constant attempt to create a secure haven for ourselves. In EMBRACING UNCERTAINTY she emphasises that an unknown future doesn't prevent a rich and abundant life, and shows how by enjoying life's unpredictability we transform ourselves from a position of fear to one filled with excitement and potential. Through invaluable case-studies, exercises and her pragmatic wisdom, Susan convinces us, above all, that life is exhilarating because of, not in spite of the uncertainty.

Spectacular Insight into how to live worry-free

Susan Jeffers has a beautifully simple way of looking at how the mind works and how to pull away from that need for control. A must read.

Shockingly hypocritical - 1 star only cos I had to.

Firstly, the title is mostly irrelevant to the title. There is an attempt to link the chapters to the title, but, quite honestly the chapters are just popular self help principles without any real or practical method.

Secondly, it is a shallow attempt to disguise the fact that the content, apart from the personal experiences of the writer, is Dalai Lama Tibetan Buddhism. Even the stories are lifted straight out of Buddhist books for westerners. This irks me as it clearly a book for profit, rather than being any help for people who need it. however, it is the amount of ego and delusion in this book that makes it so contradictory. Live by Buddhist principles by maintaining ego and delusion - good luck with that

Finally, for those who feel this is too harsh, try the first three chapters and see if they don’t completely contradict themselves.

Really feel strongly about self help books that are clearly written only for money with no understanding of the helpful themes are hijacking, it’s dangerous for those who are confused enough already. Stick with ERP and the Dalai Lama if you have issues with uncertainty, this book is a waste of time.
