Summary

The triumphant third volume of the unique and magical Duncton Chronicles.

The ruthless war against the Stone has almost been won by disciples of the Word - only wild Siabod and mysterious Beechenhill still hold out, and everywhere the followers of the Stone go in peril of their lives. Yet in the shadows of Duncton Wood a new light is shining. For the Stone Mole has come to revive the moles’ faith in themselves and in the ancient power of the Stone to defeat and deny the evil Word. But it is a task that will demand a greater sacrifice than any mole has yet to face....

A story of courage, loyalty and the power of love...inspired by the shadows and light of England’s most beautiful countryside.

Nicely rounds off the tale of the first 3 books

The Duncton Chronicles are one of the very few books I've read multiple times.

The story line is engaging and the Audible narration is first class - I can't recommend these books enough.

Here's looking forward to the final three books in the six book series...

Epic, worthy of recognition

The third in a trilogy - looking forward to the next trilogy that follows.
These books are long, full of character, a little excessive in some parts re: details of battle but on the whole excellent escapism from humanity!
Humans are refered to as two-foots in the world of moledom!
Not for children - the duncton stories make watership down look like Tom and gerry!

Fantastic, but not the end of the story

Great story and amazing narration. Hope we'll soon get to return to Duncton Wood with The Book of Silence Trilogy. Privet and Rooster await!!!

Phenomenal

What a conclusion! I loved this series, and cannot recommend it higher! You do need to have read the first two books before reading this one to really love and understand the characters!

Brilliant set of books

I read Duncton Wood years ago. I didn’t realise there were 6 books in total. The narration of 3 books currently available is brilliant. I highly recommend this series.

Duncton Found

A truly wonderful story . I fell in love with these books many years old and now to be able to listen to them on audible and narrated so well by Gareth Armstrong is pure bliss
I do hope audible and Gareth will continue to do the other three books .
Gareth has brought each and every character to life for me (Especially my favourite Mayweed )
Roll on the next books !!! Please
