Summary
Bryce Slater is 18. He's a bad boy hottie who has his pick of chicks. He parties a bit. Smokes a little dope now and then. Likes the occasional random hook-up. So what? He's determined not to follow in his father's FBI footsteps.
Avery Sinclair is 19. She's in college, and during the summer she works on her grandparents' horse stables and race track as team leader. She takes her work seriously. Her future is in equine operations. She has no time for slackers on her team. But thanks to her uncle doing a favor for a friend, Avery ends up with Bryce Slater for the summer.
"Slater the Slacker" soon becomes Avery's pet name for him, but damn if she isn't determined to whip him into shape. And while doing so, she finds herself inexplicably drawn to him. But he's so not her type!
Bryce Slater quickly gets on the bad side of his new boss - saucy, little half-pint Avery Sinclair. She's a sexy, little spitfire who is determined to break his spirit. But in the process, Bryce finds himself inexplicably drawn to her. But she's so not his type.
What started out to be a summer of tough love punishment, turns into something both Bryce and Avery never expected. Just as things are heating up, a blast from Bryce's past threatens the fragility of his new found relationship with Avery.

Great story with excellent narration
Andrea Smith is one of my top five romance authors, I love her style and characters. Dude Interrupted is the second edition in the G-Man, Next Generation Series was a riveting listen with captivating characters. As far as spin-offs go, this one is marvellous. Furthermore, I love the glimpses of our past favourite characters. The storyline is wholly engaging and entertaining with witty dialogue. Even though this a YA, it still can be enjoyed by all ages.
Outstanding narration by David Black, he captured the nuances of the characters and their emotions, bringing them to life. This was a fantastic listen, one I highly recommend.

Wonderful Y/A Read
Bryce Slater started this story aged 18, as a bit of a delinquent partying his way through school. When things go a bit too far, he’s shipped off to a ranch in the middle of nowhere for the summer. Avery Sinclair, the 19 year old granddaughter of the ranch owner manages the staff, and she’s not going to let Bryce get away with doing nothing. A wonderful coming of age romance, in which we see Bryce mature to be the man I would expect to be raised by Sammie and Slate (Diamond Girl, G-Man, book 1). We also see a little bit of drama thrown in to the mix that I loved, because, everyone loves a bad guy or girl in the storyline, right? Great characters, great story, and perfect narration from David Black, who pegs both Avery and Bryce with perfect teenage tones.

Dude Interrupted
Bryce is the hot bad guy all the girls want. But being the only one over age at his high-school friends party means jail for him. His parents think he is in too much trouble so they ship him off for the summer in exchange for the jail. But they totally forget to tell him much about it. And his new 19 year old boss seems to be a pain. The story is nice and so was the narration.

Tough love!
What happens when you are 18 and the rebelling gets out of hand? Bryce finds out when his parents send him to a friend's ranch for the summer. Some good, hard work away from the temptations will hopefully get him on track. Avery works her grandfather's ranch each summer, taking her job seriously. This excuse for a helper is not going to cut it, but she digs her heels in and gives him the tasks to start with. And our story begins. It's a fun, new adult story with Bryce's coming of age. There are some very good messages in this story, learning about life, how your actions affect you and how to deal with them. There is also a little mystery that keeps the story flowing. It's a small town, feel good story you will surely enjoy.
David Black is the narrator, and it's my first listen of his. I really loved his voice! He has a great variety of voices, does age differences well, from old women to young men and gives the story a good feeling. I enjoyed his performance and will be watching for more of his books.

Enjoyable
This was really interesting and i thought it was very entertaining seeing the characters grow up and develop into who they are meant to be. All the characters were well developed and I found myself. Wanting to know more and more of what they were doing and how things were going to progress.
The narrator was a good choice, there was a clear distinction between the characters and the range of depth that he was able to portray with the characters was fantastic.

Awww... Adorable...
A really well written boy to man story. Totally made a million times be with there being horses in the story! (I know, I know... not relevant... But hey, I love horses and have two in my family)
I liked the plot and not knowing where it was going... Andrea Smith is very good at not being predictable, you only have to read the Evermore series to know this!
Narration was upbeat with clear character definition.

Wake-Up Call
Dude Interrupted by Andrea Smith is a great "growing-up wake-up" book. I loved how the author had the main character wake-up and learn what was important to him. The thought of going off the grid for some is probably terrifying, yet the freedom is incredible. The imagery in this book was so well done. I could envision so many details. I loved how the story was original and had some unpredictable twists. David Black was wonderful performing this book. He had distinguishable voices for the numerous characters and I could hear who was speaking.

A lot of fun
I love the G-men series so I was expecting the next generation to be a lot of fun and it was!
I have to say I was a little surprised at how mad his parents got because he partied at 18. Lol. How do kids in America survive until they are 21!!? Here in Ireland I was at university at 17 and drinking at 18.
I loved the characters and setting in this book. I liked how Bryce wised up and matured as the story developed. It was a cute romance and nicely narrated. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy.
