About this listen

How much would you sacrifice to save the life of a child? In the fourth novel of best-selling author Barbara Hinske's beloved Rosemont series, Maggie Martin faces her biggest challenges when her future at Rosemont and the life of someone dear to her are at stake.

Fighting to eradicate the corruption in Westbury has left Mayor Maggie Martin drained. A sweet respite in Cornwall, England, with her new husband is exactly what she needs. Their flight hasn't left the tarmac, however, before another betrayal by her late husband Paul Martin comes to light. His lies turned their life together into an illusion, but this new revelation could put the lives of her children in jeopardy.

While Maggie weighs the option of telling them about their father's deceit, her nemesis Frank Haynes is getting closer to uncovering the truth. Though his goal of claiming Maggie's coveted Rosemont estate is clearly in sight, a potential for love has him contemplating whether he should release his lifelong dream. Can both Frank Haynes and Maggie Martin find happiness? Or will the enigmatic Haynes use Paul Martin's lies to ruin her?

The most enjoyable Rosemont to date

I am enjoying this wonderful series more and more as I am becoming more involved with the characters. Barbara Hinske draws emotions out of her characters that allow the reader or listener to fully imagine that character and each book brings the story to yet another unfinished conclusion, making me long for the next one in the series.

Romance mystery adventure engaging

This book was full of explosions the investigations into the embezzlement of town funds is still inviting trying to bring the bad guys to justice, they have found papers that relate to the investigations, one of the bad guys found more papers in the garage, so Maggie is missing the main paper that she needs. Maggie and John have a fight on their hands to find the money to buy Frank's half of Rosemont. Further twist comes from Maggie's dead husband as his mistress Loreta is now in Westbury with her kids the youngest one being Paul's daughter Nicole who is sick and needs a kidney transplant, Maggie's daughter Susan gives her kidney to Nicole which is successful. David Wheeler is doing such good work and helping Maggie with the investigations, his dog is a therapy dog and bringing joy to many. Narration was brilliant and adds to the storyline
