When Brooke discovers the truth about her mother after her death, she comes to Shadow Valley. However, a simple trip to find answers twists into something she never expects. Not only that, but the successful businesswoman crosses paths with a biker who tests the control she loves so much both inside and outside of the bedroom.
Unexpectedly, Brooke not only flips a switch inside Dex and shows him his true self, she learns it's okay to give up some of the independence she holds on to so tightly.
But that's not the only discoveries the two make. One secret shakes the club to their core by exposing a member who's been destroying them from the inside out.

not my favourite of series
Really loving this series. This was probably my least favourite so far. Mainly because I didn't really warm to Brook. Don't know if it was her being dominant but just didn't really get her.
Still enjoyed the book because of the continuing story about the club. This one centred around Pearce finally being confronted with a few extra surprises.
If I'd purchased as a standalone I'd have been more disappointed but as part of the series it was still a 4 star.

tables get turned!
absolutely brilliant! love how she wears the trousers without making you feel like he loses his alpha tough status.
beautifully written as always and of course both narrators just made this an amazing listen!

Dex’s time...
The series keeps going strong with every book. The drama is intense. The boys are fearless and so sexy and the women strong. So much unravels in this book. Brooke is an integral part of unveiling secrets from the past that the Club still needs to find out to heal. Dex just blew my mind, catering to Brooke’s tastes. They are the perfect couple even when they are worlds apart. I didn’t know how Ms James would stitch this story up but I loved it. Never a dull moment with the DAMC!!
Ms Lucas and Mr Morgan give it another notch with their smooth and sexy voices. Love them.

Dex & Brooke
What a story! You would think after 7 books about an MC, Jeanne St James would run out of original ideas. But this story not only features Dex and many of the previous members of the club, but brings in Brooke giving us a completely new and different look at the MC . Brooke is the ultimate heroine. She comes into the story with a bang, and never stops. Looking for her biological father, Brooke not only stirs up a whole lot of dark history and betrayal, but she wins the heart of Dex. I love both featured characters. Brooke has a vulnerability despite her bravado. I don't know if she is incredibly brave or works off of emotion. Either way, she is someone you don't mess with and can't help but love and respect. Dex compliments her perfectly. He knows when to back down and when to take charge. I love him knowing how to keep her happy and that he is comfortable in his own skin knowing what he needs to do. Catching up with the rest of the MC is just a bonus! And Diesel....that man....you will understand when you listen! Another incredible book! Keep them coming Jeanne, we love them!!!
Every book in this series has the narrators so perfectly matched to the characters, it's like you knew them before you even start. Dex is a complex man, and Jacob Morgan gives him that sound.Morgan as Dex has that strong alpha sound he is so good at. And then at the same time, he can add an inflection or an emotion that makes Dex soften. I love that about him and think this pairing could not have been better. Ava Lucas, always incredible keeps the women of the MC fresh. Her portrayal of Brooke shows how strong she is, but you can hear the hurt and underlying betrayal under it all. It takes a special voice to be able to give all the emotion in a single word, and she nails each of these women every time. Again, the best team for this story, St James has a winner.

With each book in this series you find yourself falling in love with more and more of the men of the DAMC!!! I loved that Brooke is yet again a strong indepandant woman but love the twist with her - brilliant!!
Great storyline as more and more about the clubs past is reavealed clashing with the present.
Supeb read!!!

Another amazing story
This book is just as good as the rest.
You get a hot alpha male and a sassy, headstrong woman.
Great chemistry and lots of twists and turns.
Dex and Brooke are a match made in heaven, they compliment each other like no other.
Great story with great characters.
Ava and Jacob done an excellent job narrating, you got the emotions 100%, angry, sad and loving.. Could not have been better.
