Summary
Most humans have no idea that a dark and deadly underworld, filled with magic and monsters, exists. They wander through life blissfully ignorant of the supernatural world around them. Nora Jacobs is different. Nora knows exactly what kinds of hellish creatures haunt the streets of Detroit.
Thanks to a unique set of psychic abilities, Nora has managed to steer clear of the underworld most of her life. But all that changes the night the most powerful vampire in the city discovers her gifts and decides to use her as a tool to find one of his missing clan members.
As if that's not bad enough, Nora believes she's cursed. All her life, people, especially men, have been drawn to her - some to the point of obsession and violence. Underworlders, it seems, are not immune to this curse, and now she's caught the attention of some of the most dangerous monsters in the city. Neck deep in an investigation only she can solve, Nora quickly makes as many new allies as she does enemies. Her biggest problem is staying alive long enough to decide which is which.

Loved this!!!
The story focuses around Nora a not so normal human and the madness she gets involved in due to her special uncontrollable abilities. This audiobook is filled with sexy men and a different take on the whole underworld scene, which is sooooooo refreshing. A must read for those who love the paranormal world and the differing species and charms. Highly recommend !!!
Also it’s not full of heavy sexual context the way some paranormal romances are, you can genuinely feel how all the characters are getting to know each other and see how each bond is developing with meaningful interactions.
CON: I have run out of credits this month and can’t get the second book yet!! It’s going to be a long agonising wait 😿

really enjoyable
well read, interesting story.
nice that the female protagonist didn't fall in love with the vampire master at first sight! looking forward to listening to the next book

ya but the girl rejects all the guys
this book covers so many fantasy tropes, like sexy vampires and dominant werewolves, but the female main character doesn't give into any of them. I love fantasy lore and like to see how authors combine them with the monden world. on the other hand I'm tired of book where the girl gets swooped up by a guy and the plot becomes more of a background thing.
Anyways very entertaining and she doesn't even have sex once

Loved this book , great story ,great author and great narrator
Absolutely a great story, totally different to other fantasy books.light hearted and easy to listen too.enjoyed every minute of it, now hopefully ther is a second and third book in this series well worth a credit

funny , kind lovely story
who wouldn't like a troll to watch over you and become family , really enjoyable waint my own troll.

I loved it, loved it, loved it!!

Finally a story to get lost in
Spent the last couple of months trying to find a new series to immerse myself in. Found some interesting stuff but this is the first one I’ve listened to almost none stop. I will definitely read the second book and hope to find more in the series. Not been so involved in a story since reading Deborah Harkness last summer.

Brilliant - 100% recommend
Great for fans of The Mortal Instruments & other fantasy books.
Couldn't press pause it was engaging, entertaining and enchanting.
Absolutely love the characters and storyline. The story had me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. Can't wait to listen to the next one and uncover a new piece in the puzzle that is Nora.
