About this listen

I don't know why you came back to Liberty, Ms. McCall, but little towns have long memories. People don't forget. You'd be wise to keep that in mind.

Ten years ago, Kat McCall left her home town in Louisiana after being accused of murdering her sister. Now, despite the fact there are those in the town who are still convinced of her guilt, she has returned, determined to unearth the real killer. With the help of police officer Luke Tanner, Kat starts to get to the truth about who really killed her sister, but there are plenty of people who don't like her digging up secrets from the past....

Utterly gripping and compulsively readable, Don't Look Back is the sensational new thriller from internationally best-selling author Erica Spindler.

Predictable

Predictable formulaic plot with unsympathetic characters and cringe-worthy dialogue. But the worst thing is the narration. The bad Louisiana accent and inflexions in tone made the listening, at times, unbearable. This is not a compelling thriller, its bad chicklit presented in an amateur way.

Who really did it?

A young girl is charged in the eyes of her town, of killing her big sister, but she has always plead innocent. Ten years on she is back in town trying to build a future but the townsfolk aren't having any of it.

This would have got four stars but the narrator really bugged me in that whenever she spoke as the supposedly guilty girl, she ended every sentence with a querying intonation despite it not being a question. Picky, maybe, but just you listen to it and you'll see what I mean!

Strong American accent

The narrator has an American drawl which was hard to listen to. i did stop listening I feel because of going backwards and forwards in time the characters were not easy to follow. I thought it was the younger girl that was killed (of the sisters) to almost a 1/3 of the way through.
