About this listen
When my best friend’s little sister walks in on me moaning her name, it’s all over. All restraints are shattered, and every boundary demolished. Nothing will be the same…
For years, I’ve tried to keep my distance from Dakota Cooper. She’s everything I’ve ever wanted and the one thing I can’t have.
But when she calls me in the middle of the night after someone tries to break into her house, I can no longer handle that distance, and I convince her to stay with me, along with her young son.
I should have known having her living under my roof would push me to the edge. Ignite the need that has simmered for so long.
The problem is, she’s forbidden. Off-limits. And I know better than crossing that line.
I can’t drag her into the dark secrets of my life.
But I can’t stay away from her either, so I do the one thing I shouldn’t—I take.
And now that I’ve had her, I’m not sure I can save her from who I am...

Dakota + Ryder = Perfection!!!!
This book, y'all. It was amazing. Like from the beginning, 𝙰.𝙻. 𝙹𝚊𝚌𝚔𝚜𝚘𝚗 had me invested. I absolutely adored Dakota & Ryder (Kaden!). Their story was *swoon* 👩🏻🍳 💋!!!
Dakota & Ryder. Oh my gosh. They were amazing. Ryder was absolutely the growly, Swoonworthy perfection of a protective man! I loved watching him with Dakota and Kaden. The mouth on him??? 🥵🥵🥵 Yes please!
But, the way he protected Dakota & Kaden was the best part. I loved the interactions between them all. It was so refreshing and captivating! His story, blended with Dakota's was a sweet ride for sure!
Let's talk about the pairing of narrators. 𝐶𝑜𝑛𝑛𝑜𝑟 𝐶𝑟𝑎𝑖𝑠 & 𝑆𝑎𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑡ℎ𝑎 𝐵𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑚𝑜𝑜𝑟 absolutely nailed it. They put every single emotion behind the words, they created the narration with amazing depth and you could just 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍 so much with their narrations. They did a magnificent job!
This trip back to Time River was just what I needed! I loved this one every bit as much as book 1! I can't wait for more!

Love is on the House
“𝗜 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗜 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂.”
“𝙒𝙝𝙮?”
“𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼.”
AL Jackson is taking us back to Time River, this time with Dakota and Ryder’s story.
Single mom and brothers best friend, with a dash of forbidden, ooh yes please.
“𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲, 𝗗𝗮𝗸𝗼𝘁𝗮. 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗜’𝗱 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘂𝗽. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗜 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗜 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗜 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿. 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗳𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜’𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗺𝗲.”
Oh Ryder, this delectable broody man. There was nothing he wouldn’t do or risk for his love Dakota. He had my heart so full of hope because I needed him and Dakota together. His bond with the sweet and adorable Kayden warmed my heart so much.
There was no mistaking the chemistry with these two. Though, Ryder did his best to resist, even to the point of flat out denial and attempted suppression of his feelings. But, for Ryder and Dakota, escaping their feelings only lasted so long, especially when circumstances brought them under the same roof. Cue, the sexual tension but I was not disappointed because holy hotness, Ryder did not hold back when he had his chance with the woman of his dreams. Parallel to the love story unfolding was a mystery that kept my mind spinning with theories. Although, my theory turned out correct, the mystery of not knowing how things would exactly play out left me a bit nervous. Heavy on the angst and feels, AL once again proved why she is one of the queens when it comes to small town romantic suspense.
Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor were absolutely amazing. Their performance just enhanced this story even more. I loved them.

Ryder & Dakota
Abso-effing-lutely worth 5 shining stars!!
Ryder was the perfectly imperfect hero we all want in our lives. Bad decisions have consequences that may affect not just oneself but those around that person and Ryder knows that too well. Living with those consequences and freeing himself from the shackles of those decisions brought Ryder to his knees. I felt in a way honoured to have listened to Ryder’s character development.
Dakota was a also a great heroine. She was strong, protective and caring. Her son Kayden was the sweetest. As a plus side lady myself I could relate to her inner insecurities whilst showing the world that she was more than happy with her curves.
The twists in this book were phenomenal. The last one really took me by surprise!
Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais brought us Dakota and Ryder. Samantha was exquisite in her portrait of Dakota, bringing her maternal side to life; Connor’s voice was perfect for Ryder, strong but caring.

Told you last night that you're the one who's had me on my knees, Dakota. A beggar at your feet. Do you get it now?

We’re back in Time River for book 2 in Amy’s latest romantic suspense series. This audiobook is perfection. With the signature sass of Ms Brentmoor and the smooth deep timbre of Mr Crais telling us all the dirty things, Amy hit the nail on the head with this one.
Ryder Nash is everything I love in a hero. He’s a tattooed biker for one, totally possessive, soft and gooey with kids (namely Dakota’s adorable two-year-old son, K Bear–Kaden), has a deliciously dirty mouth, is morally grey, and you better not touch her vibes. I absolutely melted in the scenes where he loves on Dakota’s wee boy and then my glasses got all steamed up when he decided to take her everywhere and every which way he could. Phewy, she’s a hot one!
Dakota is a strong, independent single mum who is sassy to her core. She will cut you down and serve you a life lesson all while baking you cookies. But she has also loved Ryder since they were kids but is convinced he’s never felt the same.
This is a second-chance love story that flips back and forth from the past to the present so we can understand their history. Amy is so good at writing dual timelines and with her soft lyrical style, her books are a dream to read. She has this songwriter/poet vibe going on and I just love her stories because of it. Of course, there’s some danger and baddies and twists and oh-wow-she-went-there moments all peppered with a healthy dose of spice. Watch out for Steamy this Saturday for the goods!
Now let’s talk embodiment of characters. Ms Brentmoor is the amazing as Dakota. She gives us all the sass but just enough softness to understand Dakota’s insecurities without making them the focus. I loved listening to her male voice in the bedroom scenes because, hello hottie, she does them so freaking well. Connor has such a smooth deep tone to his voice he definitely gave off those morally grey vibes but then was equally able to flip to being the absolute melt-in-your-mouth cutie around K-bear. A must-listen to add to your TBL.

Don't forget me tomorrow
What should I say: I love Amy's books.
And this one is another awsome story.
Ryder and Dakota fell in love as teenagers, although they don't admit it - they are best friends - Dakota is a single mum (with an adorable boy) - and they find their HEA.
The narrators are a perfect pairing for Dakota and Ryder and did a great job.

Even better than book 1!
Story: 4.5 ⭐️
Steam: 5 🔥
Audio: 5 🎧
I really loved this! It was even better than the first. After bits of Ryder and Dakota’s story in book one was so excited to see how everything played out! It was so perfect and their relationship was so sweet. My only complaint is that Ryder’s eyes were described as “gun metal” so many times (19 i checked lol) it was starting to get a little annoying lol other than that the book was so good!
I’m really hoping for more from this series! I’d love to see Ezra and Cody find love 🥰

Fantastic story and didn’t want it to finish.
Connor and Samantha great narrators to this emotional story. The type of life Ryder had been forced to be distant from Dakota who he loved giving the impression that he was just a friend when Dakota was in love with Ryder since a young girl. The chemistry between them was amazing and whilst Ryder’s lifestyle was kept a secret the story became a drama on the edge. I hope we have a book two to complete their tomorrows.

Loved It!
The audio for this book was amazing, I really enjoyed listening to every bit of the story. The narrators kept my attention the whole time. This is the first time I’ve enjoyed an audio so much that I couldn’t stop listening. The author has captivated my attention with her storyline and characters.
I liked that we also get third person when going into the past, it was something different and fun. The book had so many cute moments especially with Kayden, he definitely stole the show.. Hats off to the narrator for Kayden’s voice as it was just so adorable and sweet, you would actually think it’s a little toddler. I liked Dakota’s character and how she handled work while also taking care of her son. Ryder had an interesting backstory into how all of the things come into play. I liked Ryder and Dakota together and how they navigated new territory. Kayden with Ryder was very heart warming.
The story keeps you on your toes and gets you thinking about what could possibly happen. There was a shocking twist/revelation I didn’t see coming. This is my first book by the author and I can guarantee it most definitely won’t be my last. I loved this book so much, it’s definitely a fantastic audiobook for me. I’m looking forward to the next audio books by the author.
