Summary
WITH AN INTERVIEW RECORDING OF STEVEN TYLER. The no-holds-barred memoir from the legendary Aerosmith frontman has arrived. Tales of debauchery, sex, drugs and rock n' roll are read for the audiobook. The Demon of Screamin' describes the highs and lows as lead singer of the biggest rock band in the world.
WITH EXTRA INTERVIEW RECORDED FOOTAGE OF STEVEN TYLER this Prolific frontman, rock icon and sex symbol is a living legend. With his raw, sharp-edged vocals, musical versatility and unprecedented song writing skills, Tyler has, as lead singer of Aerosmith, sold millions of records and played sell-out concerts to as many as 450,000 people. Now, at last, he tells his own story, taking us on a wild rollercoaster ride through the bust-ups, binges, orgies and good old American excess in the jaw-droppingly honest, in-your-face way that only Tyler can.
Following a fateful meeting with his 'mutant twin' Joe Perry in the summer of 1970, Aerosmith was formed…and the rest, as they say, is rock history. They released their first album in 1973, and by 1976 Aerosmith had gone from being nobodies to massive to off the radar, making history as a multi-platinum, chart-topping band.
But with great success comes great excess. Nicknamed the Toxic Twins for their insatiable appetite for drugs, booze and women, Tyler and Perry got caught up in the glamour of self-destruction – smashing each other up with guitars, having seizures and passing out on stage. By 1980 it seemed that the band and its members were set to implode, but after successful stints in drug rehab, Aerosmith were back on track and better than ever.
Although he may have given up his wicked, wicked ways, Tyler still enjoys talking about the bad old days. He has so many outrageous stories to tell, and he's gonna tell them all. All the uncensored, head-spinning tales of debauchery, sex, booze, transcendence and chemical dependence you will ever want to hear. As raucous, intoxicating and edgy as his music, this is the most outrageous rock n' roll autobiography of all time.
Critic reviews
‘Steven Tyler is one of the greats of American music’ Sir Paul McCartney
‘The book is sticky with sex…and drugs…plus he squeezes maximum mileage from obsessive punning and compulsive wordplay.’ Classic Rock

Amazing
Firstly the narrator was out of this world, and really bought Steven to life. As a major Aerohead I love this book and have listened to it 6 times to date. Highly recommended, would not hesitate to buy anything else narrated by this guy.

Rock and roll
A good story, not sure how truthful some of it is.
Tended to jump around a bit and at times a little contradictory.
The ultimate rock and roll life, sex drugs and rock and roll in massive quantities

this appears to be an honest and heart felt account of ST's life so far. May he rock on for many more years.

Terrible narrator...GREAT STORY
Steve Tyler...my paisan...the roxk n roll Italian Stallion! What a life...great honesty and admittance. The only problem was the clown who narrated it. Just an awful performance. The cover stated that Tyler himself was the narrator...not true.

Brutally honest and a wild ride
loved this book from start to finish. This is one of my favourite front men from one of my favourite bands, He still looks fabulous even after all his life's excesses. A great read heart warming and very emotional towards the end. would have preferred if S.T. narrated himself.. Stevens voice is much softer and easy on the ear compared to the narrator.

Not keen on the Narrator.
Some good stories, just wish Steven Tyler would have narrated it. I'd recommend if your stuck for ideas.

What a great life
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I am a huge fan and knew that the band lived a bit off the rails but it was an eye opener.
What did you like best about this story?
I just loved it from start to finish. It was in depth and honest. Now hopefully going to read Joe Perrys...see how he seen it happen.
What does Steven Tyler and Jeremy Davidson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
passion in the story
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I wanted to listen to this book all at once, it gripped me. I talked about it to friends, telling them what happened through mainly the periods when we started listening to the band, it was facinating what you don't see!
Any additional comments?
Great book...frankly surprised all the band survived til now !!!

Proper rock and roll
Loved it - wish it was longer. I guess he can’t remember a lot because of the drugs, but you definitely get the vibe of being in a proper rock and roll band and all its trappings, highs and lows

amazing book, not narrated by Steven though
This is one of my favourite lead singers from one of my all time favourite bands and I loved the story. Would have been 5 stars across the board if he'd read it himself but even so, ab absolutely fantastic book. Thank you xxx
