About this listen

An Amazon top five best seller!

Who am I?

I've forgotten the answer to that question long ago. Ever since I ran from that house, so desperate to escape, I left with only the clothes on my back and socks on my feet. After that day, I've only ever walked in stolen shoes.

Could I be a girl who is searching for the meaning of life in faceless men? They were all so forgettable. Until he came along. He took me under a waterfall and made me forget my name, and in return, I took his instead.

Enzo Vitale.

An enigmatic man who will only ever love the deep sea. Or rather the predators that inhabit it. Turns out, he's not so different than the monsters he feeds. He lured me onto his boat like a fish in the ocean, seeking vengeance for my crime. Had I realized his intentions, and that a massive storm would leave us shipwrecked, I would've run.

Now, I'm a girl who's seeking refuge in a decrepit lighthouse with a man who loathes me almost as much as he craves me. He wants to hurt me, but the old caretaker of the abandoned island may have intentions far more sinister.

It's no longer a question of who I am, but rather, will I survive?

Disappointed However …..

I think aside from the story being not quite up to parr, I cannot get over how I felt Enzo was in his fifties, not 30’s. Maybe it was the narrators voice? It sounded older perhaps. I will say however, that HD Carlton explains on Goodreads that this is her reset book and because of this, I can get over the fact that there seemed to be an awful lot of filler in this.

Carlton can’t do no wrong.

Yet another masterpiece by H.D Carlton.
I love her style and storytelling.
The story follows an abundance of ups and downs for our FMC Sawyer (how I have to say is the first female protagonist who hasn’t annoyed the heck out of me.)
With equal measures of survival and deception colliding together with horror and suspense and shrouded in steamy, hot spice this dark romance does not disappoint. And if that alone wasn’t enough then limber up for the Italian stallion that is Enzo!!!!

Sawyer is on the run from a troubled past and through a quick change of plan ends up taking residence in Australia. It’s here that her life becomes even more complicated and Enzo, her one night stand shows back up to haunt her causing a true horror story to come to life as he seeks revenge that goes wrong and endangers them both.

A firm favourite and highly recommended if you are a fan of H.D Carlton’s work.

Amazing

I like author H. D. Carlton's second work duet Haunting/Hunting Adeline. H. D. Carlton's book Dose It Hurt does not disappoint. Does It Hurt has a good story and characters you want to know more about. The story is not predictable, which makes you want to listen further.

H.D. Carlton strikes again

where do I start this book was so enjoyable, exhilarating and devine. I fell in love with the dynamic of Sawyer and enzo. there is some twists and turns which kept the story interesting and the last few chapters had me on the edge of my seat in suspense. the narrators did an incredible job and just like haunting adeline this is one of my favourite books.

Slow to start but i enjoyed the ending and the twists!

Voice acting was amazing! Even if Enzo sounded twice the age of Sawyer. Definitely can’t be compared with Cat & Mouse Duet but definitely give it a try.
