Summary

This is Doctor Who's first exciting adventure with the Daleks! Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright travel with the mysterious Doctor Who and his granddaughter, Susan, to the planet Skaro in the space-time machine, the TARDIS. There they strive to save the peace-loving Thals from the evil intentions of the hideous Daleks!

Doctor Who and the Daleks is the classic novelisation of the Doctor's first TV encounter with the Daleks. Written by the programme's original story editor, David Whitaker, it is narrated by the character of Ian Chesterton, one of the first ever TARDIS companions.

Now, in an exclusive recording, the actor who played Ian on television, William Russell, reads the complete and unabridged novelisation.

A great story!

William Russell gives a excellent reading of a slightly different take on the Doctors first encounter with the Daleks.

A Target Classic 😀

loved hearing this story that brought back memories of reading it in my younger day. William Russell is very good narrator and love that an original actor from this story was chosen to read it. well worth buying.

Terrifying journey to Danger!

Having this title on VHS and DVD formats, was was interested in its audio book rendition. What a fantastic narrative piece, ably realised by one time companion William Russel who played Ian Chesterson oppersite William Hartnell's 1st Dr Who. It is interesting to note the story is not exact to the tv version which for me is all the better as the characterisations are wholly fleshed out and William Russells 1st Dr vocals is a gem to be behold, not so the Dalek voices, but i quibble.

Thoroughly enjoble i recommend all Dr Who titles read by William Russel for an airing. Superb 10/10

Exterminate!

My first Doctor Who audio book and what a treat! Especially the first half of the story is very entertaining and is able to perform a smooth transition from Victorian England to a far away foreign planet, inhabited by ... DALEKS! I believe this is the Doctors first encounter with his archenemies. A must read for any Doctor Who fan.
