About this listen
Part dark romance, part fairy tale, DISORDER marks the arrival of bestselling Italian author Rokia, available for the first time in English, in a vibrant translation by Beth Hickling-Moore. The production is voiced by an all-star cast: Diane Guerrero (Orange is the New Black), William Gao (Heartstopper), Freya Allan (The Witcher) and Connor Swindells (Sex Education.)
Meet Olivia, Sia, Derek and Edgar. Four young people scarred by self-harm, anorexia and PTSD, each of them searching for a way to heal. Brought together by an unorthodox doctor, their friendship becomes instrumental as they battle their respective demons. Through a series of increasingly demanding challenges set by prestigious media company GNN, deliberately chosen to make them face their pasts, their friendship becomes a key part of how they learn to process their pain. As their relationships grow, the past is never too far away, with wounds constantly being re-opened. And while no-one will remain unscathed along the journey of recovery, one thing is for sure: love has the power to mend a bleeding heart.
Please note: this production includes descriptions of mental illness, death, child abuse, violence, domestic violence, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, miscarriage and substance abuse.

This is an amazing audio production
This story emulates that we all have darkness within us and the more light we let in the more we keep the darkness abay if you seen the film the breakfast club / games of thrones this is the dark version, The narrator’s amazing, the story amazing I listen to disorder 4 times it made you laugh, cry, and breathless on how each person dark-pain was explained so poetically I wanted to find the book itself but failed I’m looking for more works from Rokia
I wish I could give it more than 5 Stars this would make a great Movie just a suggestion.

Outstanding
Captivating storytelling with characters that made you care, cheer and cry. Absolutely brilliant, I’m so glad it was translated from Italian to English as so many more people will get to hear this story.

Emotional
There's so much trauma and raw emotion in this story, it's a whirlwind. One minute I'm smiling, the next I'm outraged and teary eyed. The characters are complex and intriguing, their lives are filled with darkness and light, they have moments of weakness and triumph, it's a very well crafted story and definitely worth a listen.

Absolute chaos in the best way!
Loved the translation - it really captures all the emotions from the original. The cast is incredible too, makes such a difference when you have separate voices for the key characters. I listened to this during my (not so regular) runs, and honestly, it made getting out the door so much easier. Such a dark and twisty listen!

Brilliant and captivating story!
As someone who’s been struggling with mental health most of my life, this is an absolutely amazing representation of what mental illness can look like. It’s quick to draw the listener into the story and the second half of the story is nearly impossible to let go of. I’m not usually a fan of multiple narrators, but in this case it’s easy to keep track of what’s going on. The story is both heartbreaking- and warming. A must read!
