Summary
Available in audio first, New York Times best-selling author Laurelin Paige's newest red-hot romance!
Weston King knows how to play. But wild nights and owning an extensive collection of women's panties don't carry the thrill they once did, so when his business partner, Donovan, suggests an outrageous plan to allow them to take over their competition, Wes takes him up on the offer. The crazy idea? Marry the competitor.
Elizabeth Dyson, the bride-to-be in question, is on board with the plan. She wants access to her trust fund and can only get it once she marries. Each has something the other wants - all they have to do is pretend to like each other well enough to tie the knot.
Only trouble is, playing fiancé to Elizabeth isn't quite that simple. Wes finds her sexy and brilliant...and soon wishes their engagement wasn't fake at all. Not that he'd ever tell her that.
But a lover boy like Wes can stand an empty bed only for so long...and even the best of players has to put down his cards eventually.

Another Winner from Laurelin Paige!
I have say is Laurelin Paige is a go to author for me. I have loved everything she has written, and pre-order books unseen and I am never disappointed. Laurelin has been very brave with this book by having the audiobook published first.
I have devoured every word, as I have a soft spot for Weston. So it took me a while to warm up to Elizabeth, and the way she treated Weston. For the first time in his life he couldn’t charm a woman.
I didn’t think I would enjoy anything as much as the Donovan Duet. This is a treat you can’t miss, as with any marriage of convenience, this is to help Elizabeth inherit her father’s company. Elizabeth can’t inherit unless she is married or 29. This is Laurelin at her best, with the quick fire conversations and sexual tension you can cut with a knife. This is written with a dual point of view, which helps us understand much more. It’s no secret this is my favourite way to read or listen as it gives the reader a full picture.
Alas we have to wait for book two in the duet to find out how Weston and Elizabeth cope with married life and Elizabeth trying to save her Father’s Company from her cousin.
The narrators were brilliant and brought the characters to life.

Brilliant
I love everything Laurelin Paige writes and this series is exceptional. If she's written it, I'll buy it as I know I will not be disappointed. The performance of Jacob Morgan on audible is in my mind going to add perfection to the narration everytime and with these two paired together I know I'm going to listen more than just the once. Make sure you treat yourself to this audiobook it's well worth the money or the credit you will not be disappointed 😍😍

Weston clearly feels inadequate compared to his business partners. It hurt my heart for him. I was sad that Donovan hadn't boosted him up.🥺 I really liked Elizabeth, but again, her insecurities caused her pain, but also Weston!💔
This pair, they just need to communicate and ignore their pasts with their parents and the damage they caused them both individually!😭
I really liked both narrators. They conveyed the emotional impact beautifully.⭐️

Promising start, but …
I ended up finding them both annoying. It started out well, but they went around in circles I felt, like the author was eking out the story and then it was a cliffhanger? I’m not going to bother with the sequel. I’m afraid I found the actress’s choice for the way the protagonist spoke really irritating by the end. As if she didn’t have a real opinion, a dying fall at the end of each spoken sentence. Both protagonists felt very immature and in dire need of therapy or coaching. How he was so successful in his company is a mystery and I don’t have high hopes for her in her company, either! Sorry! I rarely leave negative reviews, but just didn’t love this at all.

Very disappointed
I loved Weston in the Donavan Kincaid stories and I was really looking forward to his story. Such a disappointment. I literally couldn’t stand Elizabeth. She was just too irritating for words and as a result I didn’t like Weston with her. The story wasn’t of itself that bad, but because I had little interest in the characters I struggled to stay interested, let alone invested. I have the follow up but I can’t say I’m that fussed about listening.
The narrators however were great, two of the best, and did the best they could with what they had.
