About this listen

Never has an unexpected guest caused such chaos!

Three couples take it in turns to host a monthly dinner party.

Beth, Sarah and Marie have been friends forever. Now they are grown up, with busy lives, busy husbands, busy kids...but they still find time to meet up over dinner once a month. A cosy, comfortable gathering of happy couples - or so they thought.

Until one night, someone brings along a last-minute guest whose wife has just left him.

Simon is standing on the doorstep in floods of tears. While the women do their best to console him, their husbands feel the need to mark their territory. And as Simon becomes more involved with the group, his presence changes everything these three couples thought they knew about each other, leading to a final dinner party that no-one will ever forget.

From best seller Tracy Bloom, Dinner Party is a funny and moving listen that will make you see your marriage and friendships in a whole new light...and make you think twice about inviting your best mates round for dinner. Perfect for fans of Marian Keyes, Nick Spalding and Gill Sims.

It's alright

It's good, entertaining and light. Easy to follow woth enough hook to keep it interesting. Narrator did a good job, the voice changes helped to keep track of who was talking. Would recommend if you fancy something easy going.

Lovely story

Really enjoyed this audio book. It's a mixture of funny happy and sad. I couldn't stop listening! Easy listening but enough twists to keep it interesting. Particularly loved the ending. Totally recommend!

very annoying character

The character of Chris really spoiled the story. I don't think I have ever shouted at an audio book before but he was so irritating

Very boring and gave up listening

Dull story, dull characters, dull narration and no hook. Gave up listening half way through as was losing the will to live. Not recommended.

More boring than a real dinner party.

Wooden, unbelievable characters with no depth and impossible to care or want to hear more about any of them. Terrible accents. Not a group of people that I would want to spend time at a bus stop with, let alone a whole dinner party. I really wanted to like this but it was a huge disappointment after a long wait.

Snore fest

Sadly a very long and drawn out story about the dynamics a among new friends, not to secret lusts and a great deal of emphasis on dips !!would not recommend this one

Not a typical Tracy Bloom book...

I loved the previous books by this author and downloaded it without hesitation but... 10 hours I will never get back sums it up. I kept hoping for a twist, etc and so persevered but I genuinely wish I hadn’t bothered.

I was waiting to laugh but it wasn't funny

Lately, I seem to not b e able to listen to a book without a chat at dying in rhem😒🙄
I love Tracy Bloom books as they are always so funny but this one wasn't funny!

I felt like the story needed more substance. I feel disappointed to be honest.
The narrator did her job reasonably well.

The relief is I did not use a credit or spend money as it was FREE in the plus catalogue included membership.
