Später wird der Mann hinfälliger und erkrankt immer öfter. Als dann der Tod kommt, ist er dennoch sehr überrascht - wo seien denn die Boten geblieben? Der Tod weist ihn zurecht: Seine Leiden seien doch die Boten gewesen.
