Summary
In his intimate diary, Jerome Mayne personally shares his life-saving lessons of ethics, morality, trust, and humility, with wit and passion. He was an aspiring finance professional on his way to the top. With his new family and his sights set for success, the world was his oyster. Lured by the prospect of big business, his career derailed when he joined forces with his future co-conspirators in a real estate finance scandal.
The nightmare begins with a hurricane of FBI investigations, criminal court, and prison. His journey twists and turns through the psychological collapse of prison, cancer, and addiction. Through it all, one woman's undying devotion helps him climb back from the hollow existence of defeat and self-pity, to a new life of integrity, trust, and self confidence.
This audiobook is a real lesson in corporate ethics and a story of overcoming adversity with self-persistence and the love and devotion of others.
Jerome Mayne hails from a small Catholic farming community in East Central Minnesota. Other than finishing high school 1985, he hasn't really completed much else. At one point, he secured a 21-month prison sentence and didn't even finish that.
Since high school, he had a kid, got married, had another kid, got divorced, went to prison, got out, had another kid, and then got married again. Somewhere in the middle of all of that he entered the world of real estate finance. A few years after electing himself CEO of the two companies he founded, the wheels came off and he fell to the bottom of society. He was arrested for his involvement in a white-collar conspiracy that stemmed from his entrepreneurial climb.
Adversity, some self-imposed and some not, has trailed him throughout much of his life. Surviving cancer while in prison was probably the most challenging. Needless to say, he has a few stories to tell. He has written one of them down and calls it Diary of a White Collar Criminal.
