About this listen
From the Wall Street Journal best-selling author of 44 Chapters About 4 Men (inspiration for the Netflix Original series Sex/Life) comes a dark Mafia romance steeped in Irish folklore.
I can’t remember anymore if my grandfather’s eyes were blue or green, but I’ll never forget the way they wrinkled at the corners when he laughed at one of his own jokes. Or the way they sparkled with mischief when he told me tales about the magical creatures that dwelled in the forest behind his humble Irish sheep farm—shy fairies who liked to eat tea biscuits, cruel witches who liked to eat children, a moody lake spirit with a taste for expensive gifts.
As a child, I believed every fantastical word. But when he warned me about the mute boy who also lurked in those woods, the one the priest had declared to be the spawn of Satan himself, I refused to listen. Kellen wasn’t evil. He was kind, and beautiful, and special, and hurting. He was my friend. And with every summer I spent stolen away with him in those enchanted woods, he grew to become so much more.
But when I return to Glenshire as an adult, grieving and engaged to someone else, all those legends quickly morph into nightmares.
My grandfather had been right about everything, especially the boy.
If only I had listened.
Warning: If you are a sensitive listener or find certain topics to be emotionally triggering, please exercise self-care and select a different book. Devil of Dublin is intended for mature audiences who enjoy dark subject matter, tortured antiheroes, explicit adult content, graphic violence, heart-pounding suspense, fairy-tale-worthy love, and gorgeous Irish scenery. If that sounds like you, then welcome to Glenshire!

Mafia-style Romance
A solid listen from BB Easton, Devil of Dublin is a contemporary mafia-style story set in Ireland.
Darby (from the US) and Kellen (Irish) meet by chance as children one summer in Ireland, then over a number of summers they see each other, until Darby's life dramatically changes and her visits stop. Time moves forward, and Darby returns to Ireland, and Kellen is now involved in the Dublin underworld.
A dramatic audiobook about star-crossed lovers, this is a somewhat brutal story, set in the underbelly of Ireland's mafia world. This couple had chemistry and history, but ultimately overcome their pasts to make a future together. This story is definitely a journey.

All the Stars!
I was very lucky to be given an Aural Fixation Giveaway promo code for this amazing book and this is my voluntary review.
Trigger Warning: Childhood abuse and Sexual Assault, but this is an amazing survivor story of healing from previous traumas.
This is a standalone, second chance romance, Irish Mafia. Deals with dark themes but the chemistry and connection is built up and unfolds like a misty irish morning, leaving the only clear path being for the reader to root for Darby to heed the warnings that the lough spirits are angry with her for coming back to Glenshire with another mans ring on her finger, when her soul was promised to Kellan.
As a native Belfast Girl, I loved hearing such a familiar accent in the narration, Eric Nolan's voice has that lyrical sing-song that wins over many a girl when they think of an Irish accent. Elizabeth Klett was a fantastic accompaniment in the POV of myths and legend loving Darby when she meets Kellan. It was brilliant, filled with a lot of tragedy, heartache and Irish folklore mixed with all the Peaky Blinders and James Bond kinda action to keep the connection between Kellan and Darby on its toes.

Excellent listen
Loved this story, of an Irish boy & an American girl who meet in Ireland. It’s a story of innocence lost and a connection so profound, they will walk through fire together, for each other. Loved the narration—both narrators are new to me. I generally only listen to a couple of hours at a time but this was so well done, I binged it over two days.

Wow, hooked all the way
I feel like this deserves a better cover picture. It was so poignant, credible, and the romance was ... perfect. It may be dark but it's also sweet. Honestly I'll have to read it again in a paperback (something I only do when I LOVE a story.)

Good listen
I loved the Irish setting and getting a glimpse into the local fairies folklore. The beginning of Darby and Kellen's relationship is beautiful and I loved seeing it grow for both of them.
I did wish we got to know more about Kellen's life and how he became de Devil of Dublin though.
I was delighted to see Darby gain some of her confidence back towards the end.
As for the narrators, Elizabeth Klett did an okay job. Sometimes the acting was a bit lacking for me. But it didn't take away from the story. As for Eric Nolan... Where have you been? Absolutely loved his performance and I think he really gave Kellen life. Brilliantly done.

A Wild & Amazing Ride! Brilliant Story & Listen🎧
BB Easton continues to wow me with another amazing novel, the story drew me right in, grabbed my attention and captivated it the entire time. It is such an original story, it starts off like a fairy tale and then wham, real life kicks in, and Darby is no longer that innocent girl who we meet as a young girl on her first visit to Ireland and whose fate was magically sealed. Darby met a boy in the woods that day, Kellen, and they formed a special bond that day. Darby only saw the good in people, and when she saw Kellen, that was what she saw. She did not know how troubled he was or that he had a terrible home life. They saw each other several times over the years after that, and Kellen always looked forward to seeing her. She was the only one who did not judge him or look at him like he was evil. She had not visited Ireland for a few years because of money issues and then her Mom’s illness and the next time she does it was for her grandfather’s funeral and her fiancé accompanied her. Even though she heard of Kellen’s demise she still went looking for him, and what she found instead surprised her, she mistakenly went to the wrong cottage and the person who greeted her reminded her of who intended husband was, deemed by Saoirse, herself. Her life is thrown into a tailspin after that meeting, she saw what happened to Kellen’s cottage, she even thought she saw him and when she went home, her fiancé was not happy with her and was his usual abusive self until an angel comes to save her, or was it the devil. Kellen did not intend to be seen, but he could not sit back and watch what was about to happen to Darby. He does what he does best, rids the problem and then he takes Darcy with him. She does not know what he does and when she comes up with some guesses, he does not deny them since they were all good things, if only. I love how everything played out in this book, it is a brilliantly plotted story with plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, twists and turns, thrilling suspense and a romance that was always meant to be. The world building is phenomenal, as is the character growth and development. BB Easton, thank you for this brilliant story and the wild and amazing emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧 📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, BB Easton could not have had a better cast to bring her characters and story to life. Elizabeth Klett and Eric Nolan are superbly talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that suited their character’s persona, accents included, and were believable in every role they played. Klett’s Darby was perfection all thru the years, Nolan’s did the same for Kellen, grasping all sides of his personality. Both were great voicing the all the secondary characters as well. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to, and their narration enhanced an already amazing story to another level. Thank you for this exceptional listen.
