About this listen
The man who shattered her trust is back to protect her....New York Times bestselling author Diana Palmer delivers a breathtaking story of second-chance love.
When Paul Fiore disappeared from Isabel Grayling's life, he told himself it was for all the right reasons. She was young and innocent, and he was her millionaire father's lowly employee. Three years on, Paul is the FBI agent assigned to Isabel's case. Too late, he realizes what life in her Texas mansion was really like back then - and how much damage he did when he left.
Once love-struck and sheltered, Isabel has become an assistant district attorney committed to serving the law, no matter how risky it gets. But right now, the man she can't forgive is the one thing standing between her and a deadly stalker. She knows Paul won't hesitate to protect her life with his own. But if she can't trust herself to resist him, how can she trust him not to break her heart all over again?

Very much a Diana Palmer book
Have you listened to any of Todd McLaren’s other performances? How does this one compare?
very similar but he got a few voices wrong, should of checked past books!
Any additional comments?
This book is the first of 2 about the Grayling sisters, the younger sister gets her story in the Wyoming series Jan 2017.
This is very much in the same vain as most of DP's book, with a virginal naive young lady and an older, slightly damaged guy. About the first third of the book gives the history between Paul and Isobel (Sari) with the rest of the book back in present day. As is the case with many of DP's books if you have read the rest of the series, the timeline is a little off but it doesn't distract from the story too much. Since most of the action takes place in Jacobsville, there is a lot of catch up with the usual crowd, which is nice but its mostly the same crowd that is in every other DP book of late. The story is a too and fro between the main characters with much misunderstanding and lies for protection told. Its not until the present part that things get untangled but again some of the same issues come back to haunt both of them.
Like most DP books, what you get initially is not what you think is going to happen, as there are a few surprises in store. There are a few twists and turns, some characters like Mr Grayling that I wanted to strangle! but overall its a nice easy read.
Todd McLaren is a decent narrator but he got a couple of voices wrong in my opinion. Glory Rodrigo sounded Mexican when she is American. This is not the first DP book he has narrated so I had heard his voices before. Overall he is easy to listen to with a slow steady rhythm to the narration with accent when needed. One of the better narrators that I have heard. Enjoy!
