Summary

The divine Phryne Fisher returns in the 15th seductive installment in the classic Phryne Fisher whodunnit series. This one includes shipboard romances, champagne cocktails, erotic photographers, jealous husbands, mickey finns, blackmail, and attempted murder.

A succession of jewelry thefts from first-class passengers is hardly the best advertisement for a cruise liner, particularly when it is likely that it is a passenger who is doing the stealing. Phryne Fisher, with her Lulu bob, green eyes, Cupid's bow lips and Chanel traveling suits, is exactly the sort of elegant sleuth to take on a ring of jewelry thieves on the high seas - or at least, aboard the SS Hinemoa on a luxury cruise to New Zealand. With the Maharani - the Great Queen of Sapphires - as the bait, Phryne rises magnificently to the challenge.

Death by Water

This murder mystery sends Miss Fisher and For on a Cruise ship to try and find the jewel thief that has been attaching passengers on their ship. While finding out who's who a murder occurs, and Miss Fisher herself is attached! Read brilliantly once again by Stephanie Daniel.

Brilliant period drama thriller

When I began to listen to this audiobook,I knew is was a winner. It has everything,a strong lead character, loads of intrigue with a touch of risk!
It is a superb thriller or murder mystery and the narrator was fantastic.
I highly recommend this audiobook and is I feel superior to other leading 1920s books. It reminds me of the very best of Agatha Christie with spice, and hot spice!
Brilliant listen, superb period piece. At the end the author speaks about why she wrote this book and this even enhances the experiences.

Sparkling

This one is a joy from beginning to end, witty, charming, interesting, and the denouement delightfully unexpected. I have been a fan now through about a dozen Phryne audiobooks, and this has been the most purely enjoyable. They are always interesting, but many have a very dark side, to the point of harrowing in some cases, and this one is just sheer entertainment. A lot of fun.

Good Listen

I started listening to these books just before leaving for New Zealand, I have been here now for 6 Mths and finally got around to listening to this book. What a great book, I have enjoyed, others of her's more, some of the readers pronunciation of Maori language was poor, and disappointing, but I did learn things that I didn't know.
If you like these books then this is another winner
