Summary

An explosive international thriller from the Hollywood legend and British icon Sir Michael Caine.

DCI Harry Taylor has no respect for red tape or political reputations - but he's great at catching criminals.

And all his unorthodox skills will be needed as an extraordinary situation unfolds on his doorstep: a metal box of radioactive material is found at a dump in Stepney, East London, but before the police can arrive it is stolen in a violent raid.

With security agencies across the world on red alert, it's Harry and his unconventional team from the Met who must hit the streets in search of a lead. They soon have two wildly different suspects, aristocratic art dealer Julian Smythe in London and oligarch Vladimir Voldrev in Barbados. But the pressure is on. How much time does Harry have, and how many more players will join the action, before the missing uranium is lighting up the sky?

Deadly Game is a compelling, fast-paced audiobook of international intrigue and twisting suspense from a legendary actor and British icon, who now proves himself to be a first-rate thriller writer.

Bit improbable story but the hero survives.

East end villains and international plot - what I expected from Michael Caine. Passed the time but some bird dragged a lot. Good twist at the end.

Very clever twist

I really liked the plot and was left guessing till the end. A very well organised story with intricate detail. It's a shame about the narration though, it really dulled the story. The narrators voice is like a flat monotone with no differentiation between characters. At the start, I had to keep rewinding because I didn't know who was speaking. I only stuck with it because I love Michael Caine and wanted to hear his story.

paced well but iffy plot

well narrated apart from constantly "ashuming" rather than assuming! good thriller if you don't mind the outlandish plot

Okay

Not one I could not put down. Do people maintain the sort of dialogue that ran through the story? The narration left for room for improvement

Sir Michael Caine can certainly write a thriller!

It is like a modern IPCRESS File. He writes a story with big events but doesn't over glamorise it in to a fantasy world. This is a well crafted story with a storyline that keeps you engaged. Eddie Marsan brings his words to life. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

A Surprisingly Good Story

I wasn't expecting a great story, but I like Michael Caine and so thought I'd give it a whirl.
I also new that Eddie Marston would do a great job reading it, and he did.
The story turned out to be a really jolly romp of a ride through the dark side of London's criminal factions with a nice little twist at the end.
All in all a great listen.

The twist in the tail

The twist in the tail was a surprise, wasn’t expecting that to be the answer

not for me

I really wanted to like this book, but found it predictable nothing new, but it most certainly was not helped by the narrator (sorry)

I gave it a chance and listened to the whole book, I guessed right (wont say anything for those that are going to listen) did not return it but wanted too,

Next book |(as I am sure there will be one) get another narrator as a good narrator makes the book 100% better!!
