Ken McCoy excellent writer ✍🏼

I was entirely gripped by this story. A beautiful sunny day off and I vowed to go out, but couldn’t stop listening to this.
I love Ken McCoy but all previous books of a completely different genre; but one of the reasons I liked those books is the author’s ability to spare no punches in his writing - any story that grips me in that way, and causes a juxtaposition on my own relatively calm life enthrals me. I wasn’t sure this was going to do it for me - crime stories are unfamiliar territory for me and I’ve always believed I wouldn’t like them. But this book was brilliant. I love Sep’s outlook on life - despite the hard blows he’s been dealt he never let go of his intention - bar the one initial mini meltdown (no spoilers) - he kept his eye on justice being dealt, and I think he makes a great character.
But I also believe that the impact of the story was made by the narrator! He is top notch! I found myself ‘missing’ the Gorbals’ accent of his alter ego! Perfect enunciation on that hard nut character, well done narrator 👏🏽👏🏽
I feel that had I read the story myself I wouldn’t have heard the story in quite the same way. A perfect meld of story writing and storytelling 10/10 ✨
