About this listen

"Nothing good ever happens at the butt-crack of dawn. No doubt, the headless corpse on the autopsy table in front of me would agree." – Violet Parker

Real estate agent Violet "Spooky" Parker stumbles upon a body-part theft ring at the local funeral parlor and suspects her caustic coworker has a hand in it - or maybe a foot. Can Violet discover what's in the crates that the crooks are sneaking out of the mortuary in the dark of night? Or will she end up in one of them herself - in pieces?

Fantastic

First time I have listened to these books by Ann Charles, I have to say thanks for so many fits of laughter and a brilliant storyline. I have to say while walking my dog I have had some odd looked from people while laughing allowed. I am now a true fan of you Ann Charles so refreshing to listen to what I can only say is a breath of fresh humour in these hard times thank you. Narrator Caroline Shaffer you bring each character alive and deliver the unfolding story with perfection.

Great laughs and ghosts

This is a romp of a story line. Some sexual activity too and some swearing but not that much but you should be warned if you’re prudish. This is an on going story so start at the beginning or it won’t make a lot of sense

Truly wonderful lol series

I’m sitting watching my grandchildren swim whilst we’re on holiday. Ear buds in, listening to this fantastic series from the very talented Ann Charles and narrator extraordinaire Caroline Shaffer wondering why I’m getting strange looks from all around. Fortunately, I had my iPad handy and waved my ebook at the amused crowd. This series is so funny containing lots of twist and turns, just like a ride on a rollercoaster n I can honestly say this must my sixth ride for the whole series. Even though I know what’s happening, I still laugh, finding the situations hilarious. My go to series when I need a pick up, or a favourite to take on holiday. Highly recommend.
PS I passed on details of this series to three other people today. Apparently my chuckles were contagious and they wanted some laughs too.

Not an admirable lead character

Sadly, not much to like. I read the previous book and was unsure, then was swayed by the reviews so downloaded this. How I wish I had not bothered. The lead female character was lying, manipulative, deceitful and juvenile. I feel sorry for her children & cannot fathom why the male love element is attracted to her. The main and repeated incidents of her either being in a difficult situation when he phones are tiresome as are the interruptions when she finally gathers the courage and self respect to tell her best friend (who is attracted to him) that she is sleeping with him. Not funny, not suspenseful and not my thing. I need to have something I respect in the lead characters, and there is not that here.
