I don’t get it

I wanted to listen to this book as I was very curious why the Islamic world have such a strong issue with this book and is author.

I simply don’t understand why ? Maybe is because I am not that familiar with the gods and goddesses in the book?

For me is just an average story that sometimes was a bit tricky to follow and understand. I guess more research is needed to understand what this book is so controversial - because after reading it, I don’t get it
