Summary
The human race is in trouble. After narrowly claiming victory in the first invasion, an assault by advanced militaristic aliens armed with light speed capable spacecraft is a continuing threat. Even so, Chrysalis is in danger, and Whatsit is determined to rescue his fellow Chrysallamans. It's a task he knows he cannot accomplish without the help of his human brethren. With the threat of future attacks looming, the humans will have to decide whether it's best to go on the defensive at home on Earth or take the fight to its source and save the Chrysallaman race.

Stupendous
This is quite a character and science driven novel. The characters and storyline are very well thought out and executed with quite a bit of humour which makes them all the more realistic and endearing to you.
Narration also works out well and the blend of the two makes this a great listen.
I will definitely be making the next book a must buy.
This audible was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review and as such is my own personal opinion.

Good
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This was a good novel. I enjoyed the story and the writing was really good. I did feel like I suffered for not having read book one in this series, and I didn’t feel massively connected to the characters.

.Dawn Of Chrysalis Book 2
A great concept and pretty good story, which kept me intrigued and wanting to discover what happens, A clever idea which leads into an equally good storyline. The writing does match the sophistication of the story. The style is simple and very elegant , with frequent repetition and a high proportion of
dialogue, To be fair to the author, the way in which people talk in real life is usually very different from dialogue in a book, with good reason - rarely are people slickly smart and articulate in everyday conversation so, quite possibly, the way in which these characters talk is far more realistic than is most fictional conversation. Which makes for a good listen.
accentuated by a talented narrator with great command of performance skills and multiple voices. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.I received this title for free in exchange for an unbiased review. As always this is my honest opinion .
i will be looking forward to book three :)

"Humans don't easily accept authority."

Continuing the story of an attempted earth invasion - and the alien in the sombrero hat.
Following the defeat of the military attack of earth by Chrystonians, , a previously undefeated race of superior, telepathic lizard like aliens - the problem remains of what to do with the settlers, still in stasis on the ships in nearby space. The decision to try to slowly absorb them into the population is a brave one and a selection of sleepers, mostly scientists, are chosen to be the first to be woken and invited to stay, if the can be persuaded that the earthlings are not inferior animals but the measure of, or superior to themselves. Things seem to be going quite well, until the unexpected arrival of their Emperor is announced. He had escaped an invasion of his own planet, leaving his people to the aliens arriving there ...
And Whotsit might just have found a girlfriend!
This book is great fun as the reader is reunited with some of the characters from book one.
Mr.McKenzie, the easy going, down to earth engineer, is still in a love hate relationship with the egotistical, opinionated scientist, but together they get the science done. Filled with humour, quirky personalities, bombastic aliens, imaginative science and battles for survival, and with just a hint of political incorrectness, this is a light, enjoyable listen. John Pirhalla is again narrating, his easy on the ear voice this time seemingly more involved in the action rather than recording it as if from a news reporting delivery. His reading is well paced with nicely nuanced phrasing and intonation, helping to bring the story to life.
Perhaps not as action packed or gripping as some military science fiction, Dawn of Chrysalis is certainly still an attention holder, more in a comic book style, with clever ideas and some mind bending tools of domination. Good fun.
