Summary

Larissa Hostetler is on the run after an arranged marriage to Silus, her abusive, immortal husband. As Silus hunts his disobedient wife, he plots her painful atonement. But Bishop King, the most powerful and eldest immortal in The Order, finds Larissa first, and he has plans of his own.

A deadly vampire is slaughtering mortal women in the woods, drawing unwanted attention from the media that threatens to expose their species. The Council is hard pressed to hunt and destroy the creature, but other upheaval is at play.

Immortals on the farm are keeping secrets. Vows will be broken and lives eternally changed as appetites for vengeance grow.

Nothing is as it seems when an immortal seeks revenge.

I need more!

This is the second book in The Order of Vampires series, an Amish Vampires Romance. The series continues where the first book left off. Therefore, it is recommended to listen to Original Sin before this one. Bishop Eleazar King and Larissa Hostetler's story is emotional, suspenseful, intricate, and entertaining. They are both fantastic and intriguing characters. There is a lot going on in this story: intrigue, family drama, danger, and twists and turns. The cast of supporting characters is impressive, and they have an important part in this story. The world building is imaginative, and original. I enjoyed it. Lucinda Gainey did a nice job with the narration. Looking forward to listening to Prodigal Son, the next book in the series, to know what happens next.

What a sequel!

After listening to Original Sin, I knew I had to listen to Dark Exodus ASAP! Per usual with all Lydia Michaels reads, this story will make you feel all the feels. Though focusing mostly on Larissa (Adam from book one's sister), we also get more storylines for previous couples from book 1 which definitely bring the angst and emotional damage, to balance out the spice which is present in spades. It is nearly impossible to review without massive spoilers, but this was a solid follow-up to Original Sin, and I can't wait to see what happens in book 3! Reading book 1 is a must, and this does end on a cliffhanger.

What an ending!

This was as good as the first book! Larissa, who fled her abusive husband, works in a club… as a dancer. She fears that Silas may find her so she keeps to herself. The only one who knows where she is is her brother Cain. Until the day the Bishop enters the club…. That story is one I will NOT spoil.

This is a good book. The characters are interesting.. the storylines are good and make you want to know more. I enjoyed the book!
