Summary
Dante is Chapter Master of one of the noblest but most troubled Chapters of Space Marines in the Imperium: the Blood Angels. From the time of his birth in the rad-scarred wastes of Baal Secundus, he was destined for glory and strife.

Guy Haley provides a fascinating insight into Commander Dante personally and the Blood Angels chapter as a whole. This is a must read or listen for anyone with an interest in the 40k universe.

Loved it, another hugely strong story by Guy Haley, wonderfully breathed life into by the ever outstanding Gareth Armstrong.

Just great character building and narative.
A great insight to how Dante became a great leader and how the Blood Angels recruit and follow that process, very writen and narrated. I would highly recomend.

worth a listen
Definitely worth a listen we especially if you're new to BA, knowing about Dante was a must for me after I read about him in the rule book. This is a great backstory to him!

Best black library book yet
So I have listened to a few books from the black library and this one is the best so far. The only negative is that I wanted more!!!!

An amazing read for any Blood Angels fan!
I adored the time with this book, although it takes place before the devastation of baal I listened to it afterwards. It really helps to endear and humanise such a powerful figure in the setting, it also elucidates the unique selection process for the blood angels and allows you to get immersed with Dante's journey from a small irradiated boy to the imposing golden captain of the adeptus astartes blood angels.
Highly recommend for anyone with an interest in the blood angels in general, let alone anyone who wants to learn about Dante

Some decent lore but didn’t like the narrator
Great origin story of Dante & some awesome insight into the chapter gene flaws but I personally didn’t like the narrator - his range of voices wasn’t good enough in my view and some of the characters just sounded.......silly.
