About this listen

There are a few simple rules Daniel follows.

Rule One: never let an adult see your weakness. Daniel made that mistake and look where he ended up - summer camp.

Rule Two: never make fun of the person who feeds you, unless you like Miss Gunderson's peppery pancakes and green hamburgers.

Rule Three: stay away from girls who love Glitter Ponies. They have cooties, after all.

And Rule Four: never, ever lose your magic pencil.

But Daniel has broken all of his own rules. Now he's stuck and starving at Camp Bigfoot with the school bully as his bunkmate and an ooey-gooey girl who won't leave him alone. If all of that wasn't bad enough, his prized possession, a pencil that brings his drawings to life, has gone missing and wacky creatures are popping up all over camp.

Can Daniel survive Camp Bigfoot and find his magic pencil before it's too late?

Great for kids and big kids alike

What made the experience of listening to Daniel the Camp-er the most enjoyable?

I don't get the opportunity to introduce my kids to that many audio books as I listen to them whilst driving for work but it was really nice during a family holiday to listen to this, it passed the time in an enjoyable way and it was great to laugh along with the kids at the adventures.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Daniel the Camp-er?

It's got a great flowing story, we go on a grand adventure to find the pencil, escape Bigfoot, befriend aliens, and overcome all the adolescent challenges presented when one goes to camp.

What does Emily Kleimo bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Senor moose was a stand out bit of narration, but in general it was great. Good difference between male and female characters and easy to listen too given the fast paced adventures going on.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

It's very enjoyable throughout.
