About this listen
Welcome to Wicked Beach.
Murph:
They call me dangerous. Which is fine by me. It keeps everyone out. Then some new girl walks into my shop and turns everything upside down. It started out physical until she becomes the one person standing between me and the future of my business. Now this mysterious new girl has me right where she wants me - physically, mentally...and emotionally.
Savannah:
I’ve been burned before. Now I look out for myself.
The last thing I expect is to inherit a tattoo shop run by the world’s scariest - and sexiest - business owner. If I were smart, I would cut him out and use the money to start a new life for myself - one free from the demons in my past. But Murph’s hard eyes and gentle touch do something to me. It’s like he can see something no one else can, and no matter how hard I try, he won’t let me walk away. If I want to save myself, I have to ruin him. And to ruin him feels far more dangerous than what I’m running from.
Dangerous is the second swoon-worthy installment in the Wicked Hearts series. These stories can be heard as stand-alones or together. Warning: This fast-paced romance might leave you breathless and a touch corrupted.

Intense
Murph is closed off, walled up tight, to protect himself from heartbreak. Savannah is skittish and broken, & hiding from her past.
Sweet old Hazel has been playing behind the scenes.
The chemistry is instant and intense, but the trust and emotions are slow to show up. Will Murph tear down his walls for Savannah? Will Savannah trust her heart to Murph?

A great second instalment...
I am thoroughly enjoying the ever building Wicked Hearts world. The characters are so likeable even with their personal struggles. Murph and Savannah's story was brilliantly simplistic. It just felt so well ploted. There was just the right amount going on to not over complicate things. The performance was brill, both Lacey Gilwern and Stephen Borne had a wide character range which really helped the flow!

Murph and Savannah
New author and new narrators and such a wonderful audiobook to find all of them on.
This story showcases that the love of a caring wise woman can bring broken and scared people together and make them stronger. Hazel turns out to be a fairy godmother to all of the children who came to live with her. Even when she’s gone her hope and love for all of them holds them together just as she hoped it would. Hazel was a tell like it is type of gal who lived her life to the fullest regardless of what anyone thought of her. A true spitfire with a huge heart for youngsters who needed her guidance and love. She totally was the one who guided Murph and Savannah together and they were a match made for one another.
Fantastic narration and narration matches the characters really well. There voices matched the characters in my mind. Lacey sounds innocent yet tough enough to do what she has to do to survive her past. Stephen’s voice was rough yet fierce as Murph and I really enjoyed the performance so well.
The storyline is a standalone yet makes me want to check out more. Definitely worth a credit.

My favorite of the series
It can be hard reading through the backlist of a favorite author because while this had so many micro-tropes that I absolutely love, I can't help but notice that her writing has gotten so much better since this book. If this book or series is your first time reading Sara Cate then I'm so excited for you to discover her more recent work. If you're coming here from one of her more recent series then I would listen to this if you love tattoo shops, friends with benefits, or meddling grandma types.
Narration: Stephen Borne is a great casting for the MMC, but the narrator for the FMC wasn't my favorite.

Fantastic characters
This book has some of the best well written characters I’ve read in a long time. With an intriguing storyline and lots of twists and turns this book will keep you gripped. A fantastic performance from both narrators.

Great Story & Narration🎧 Engrossing & Heartfelt!
It is great to be back in Wickett (Wicked) Beach for another Wicked Hearts Romance. This second book in the series can be enjoyed on its own, though I recommend reading and/or listening to the first book, “Delicate” first, you will have more insight to some of the back stories. This book is Savannah and Murph’s story, Murph, a tattoo artist owns the shop where Logan works, his story was in “Delicate”. Murph is not the easiest of characters, he is dark, intense and and carries a lot of anger within. He did not have the best childhood, wound up in foster care but did land a loving home with Hazel Whitaker, an eccentric but loving person. Hazel’s health has been failing, she needed assistance and not wanting a regular aid or nurse she placed an ad for one, Hazel style. Savannah saw that ad at the right time in her life, she needed to fall off the grid and get away from her old life. Not getting out much she takes a walk into town and she checks out the tattoo shop where she meets Murph, which turns into a hot encounter before she flees. She is surprised when he shows up at Hazel’s house and even more surprised to find out who he really was. The chemistry between these two was undeniable, both were imperfectly broken yet perfect for each other. I loved how everything plays out in this book, the story is plotted out nicely and there is never a dull moment. There is plenty of drama, angst, twist and turns, some thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt and emotional moments and a great romance. Sara Cates, thank you for another great story and emotional roller coaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the narration, Lacey Gilleran and Stephen Borne are talented narrators and voice artists. They did a great job portraying the characters and bringing them to life. They gave each character their own voice and personality, as well as heart and attitude. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all of the characters emotions and projected them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen🎧

3.5 Stars
3.5 Stars I have read this series way out of order, but I have to say I liked book 3 a lot more than this. I really enjoyed the writing style and I really liked Murph as a character. His issues and his background, I wanted more of him. Yeah so a solid hero, decent story, pretty meh heroine. But overall, it was a good read.
