Summary

Face it...you really wanted to like the Deadseries, but the jumping around was just too dang distracting. "Just give me one story to follow!" you screamed. Well...your request was heard. This book strips away all those other pesky tales and gives you 18 chapters of The Geeks!

Kevin, Mike, Darrin, and Cary thought that a zombie apocalypse would be the coolest thing ever. They were wrong.

Follow four self-admitted zombie geeks as the unthinkable happens and proves to be more of a nightmare than any of them could imagine.

This is a compilation of the first three books in the Deadseries: Dead: The Ugly Beginning: , Dead: Revelations, and Dead: Fortunes and Failures. Each special edition also contains close to 10,000 words of additional material requested by YOU...the listeners! This special edition allows you to sink into a Dead world with your favorite people and not be "distracted" by those long absences as other stories intrude and get in the way. A special edition has been released for all three of the story lines that exist in the Deadbooks--Dead: Vignettes, Dead: Steve's Story are also expanded editions of the stories from the first three books in the series.

Epic tale of survivial in the apocaplyse

Would you listen to DEAD: The Geeks (Vol.1) again? Why?

I've read the books, more times and I can count and this audio book didn't disappoint. In the Dead Series The Geeks are some of my favourite characters. It also made me realise that it isn't always the zombies you should be afraid of.

What other book might you compare DEAD: The Geeks (Vol.1) to, and why?

I had to think long and hard about this answer. I've read other zombie/horror books and I can honestly say none come close to this. The only comparison I could make would be Game of Thrones and purely on the fact that the DEAD series have lots of different characters/groups surviving in the very different situations and it is an epic saga. In this special edition we don't hear about all the different character. Instead my favourite characters have been placed in one edition with some extra content.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes if you had the time and were very brave.

Any additional comments?

Treat yourself, I started on the DEAD series over a year ago and I'm still raving about how amazing it is. TW Brown has more Dead Snapshots coming up this year and I can't wait.

Nice to Be Back with Kevin & Co.

If you could sum up DEAD in three words, what would they be?

A Must Read!

What did you like best about this story?

As a dead reader, what i enjoyed about this book was staying in one place just following the story of Kevin and his group.

What does Andrew McFerrin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Andrew brings the characters alive and allows you to still use your imagination to put meat on their bones.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes because the story is just following one group it is so much easier to follow the story, for the first 4 dead books i was able to do them in one go but by the time i got to the 5th i just could not follow anymore and had to stop start a lot

Any additional comments?

If you are a fan of the dead series you will know Kevin and his band well and this story, however the brilliant part of this it really fills the story so much more. I am a fan of Kevin from the dead series of course but really enjoyed gaps in the story being filled and just that extra detail that allows you to get more emotionally involved with him and his companions.
A throughly enjoyable listen apart from one small part, there is a noise between changes in the story, which is a brilliant idea if you are used to the dead series as it informs you of a small change in location or time, the only snag is the noise is a bit jarring, so listened to book quieter than i would normally. If that is the only minus point then trust me this is a really good book :)

Excellent

What made the experience of listening to DEAD the most enjoyable?

I had read the books and love them. I had an opportunity to listen to this audio book and it does not disappoint at all.

What did you like best about this story?

You really get drawn into each character.......

Which scene did you most enjoy?

To be honest i don't really have a favorite scene. it was all good.

Any additional comments?

In my opinion, The Dead Series should be made into a TV series. story and plots are better then The Walking Dead ( and we all love that show ).
