Once again we meet up with the Invaders as they attempt to overthrow the evil government and pull down the wall. Yes, they are all back: Uncle Mel Gibson, Eric and Carlton, Nick and Ray, Uncle Mel Gibson, Starlet and Ella, the dog, various nasty aliens and Uncle Mel Gibson, and, of course, Dave who didn't turn out to be quite as expected, oh, and Mel Gibson.
But this time the stakes are even higher. Not just the end of the wall - it could be the end of the world.
This crazy, dystopian story set just a few years into the future, is, like the two preceding it, disgustingly crude, gross, over-the-top - and hilariously funny Narrator, David Dear, captures every nuance and breathes life into every one of these curious characters, each of whom is given a distinctive voice and his fast paced performance is perfectly matched to the text. A perfect pairing.
Although there isn't much story to follow as the characters are almost everything, it would be a mistake, and a great pity, to start with this volume. First listen to the preceding two books to enjoy the full terribleness of this satirical tale. Nor should you buy this book if you are repelled by sexual innuendo, gross physicality, irreverent takes on life and society and are shocked by slight dalliances with political incorrectness. But if this isn't you, go get this book now and enjoy. I loved the.whole series. Thank you, Mr.Richard.
