The author, Dominik Szczepański, witnessed Mackiewicz's struggles with the Naked Mountain himself during the famous expedition in 2016. In this book he created a multilayer portrait of the mountineer, based on the stories told by his father Witold, his ex-wife Joanna Kondracka, his friends from Poland and Ireland, and many others.
