About this listen

Nia has one rule—don’t date neighbors. Simple, except the guy next door is single, handsome, and not inclined to close his blinds while naked. When her car dies, Conn takes “being neighborly” to a new level by offering a ride to her long-distance destination. Nia has resisted his looks and charm for months. Surely she can handle a few hours in his truck...

For months, Conn has blatantly put himself on display, hoping his pretty blonde neighbor would tire of secretly watching and come knock on his door for a cup of sugar—or more. No such luck—until an unusual opportunity arises. After a six-hour drive turns into a sweet-and-sexy weekend, Conn wants more than neighborly status with Nia. To get it, he must convince her to break the rule protecting her heart—by putting his on the line.

Note: Hot contemporary romance with some explicit sexual content.

Just ok for me

This was a good story line but I had a hard time staying focused. I can’t figure out if it was the narration or the writing. I did stay with it and liked it, however I didn’t enjoy the ending. I feel like there was something missing. Conn was a gem and you couldn’t ask for more. Nia was hard to please. This book was just ok for me.

Loved this book, it’s a heart warming story of two neighbour caught up by a weather front and so blossoms a great story.
The narration by Bradley Ford and Lu Banks was fantastic and really brought the character to life.

great

Loved the dual narration of Bradley Ford and Lu Banks

Nia rule is do not get involved with your next door neighbour, no matter how hot is. No matter that for 8 months you have been watching from your bedroom and seeing him undress... It is the one and only rule

Conn, is the handsome , sexy next door neighbour , who knows he is being watched . Both of them have past relationships that make them adverse to starting a new one. But both have the hots for each other.

Thanks for a car break down, Conn has a chance to persuade Nia to break her one and only rule

A great listen!

Loved Nia and Conn’s sexual innuendoes and banter and adding Zeus to the mix gives a very funny first half this is an easy listen and beautiful storyline with fabulous narration by Bradley Ford and Lu Banks.
POV I felt the ending jumped to epilogue too quickly but really happy to be given the opportunity to listen

Nia, Conn & Zeus

Nia refuses to date her neighbors, though Conn, the good-looking man with no curtains is great to look at. When it's time to go visit her parents, Conn offers to drive her through the horrible storm. Taking him up on his offer, the two begin their journey of trust, friendship and love. Karla Doyle brings to life a fun and adventurous story, giving us all the feels, from frustration to passion to love. Nia is exasperating at times. I know she has a past to deal with but with this man right in front of her, I wanted to push her along. Conn is too good to be true. He too has commitment issues, and though frustrating, his attentiveness and warmth won me over. I loved meeting Nia's family, great secondary characters to build out the story. And Zeus, he just makes the story. A man and his dog, what is not to love?

The narration comes to us by Bradley Ford and Lu Banks. I loved Ford's performance. He understands his character, creates that feeling of warmth, humor and love. Banks has a breathiness to her voice that I was not fond of, but she does bring Nia's character to life. Lots of emotions to deal with, she finds each one and makes it real. The important thing is the narrators made it a fun listen.
