Fleeing problems in her own marriage, child protection worker Dana Gibson leaves Sydney for a job in the Queensland town of Toowoomba. Good story, would probably have preferred to have read it.

I enjoyed the story, although some of the details seemed a bit off, nothing major, just the common use of personal mobile phones in 1996 probably wasn’t prevalent. And relocating to a different state taking a clock that someone has given as a gift in high school seemed random.

I did enjoy the storyline though, and living in Toowoomba it was good to read about familiar landmarks. It’s pity that there was a Scottish character as this didn’t translate well at all. I don’t know how else it could have been done but the accent was more Irish/Russian than Scottish and I found it very distracting.
