About this listen
The next thrilling instalment in the Underworld Gods series. Perfect for listeners who want high steam Hades/Persephone and Beauty and the Beast vibes with a dark Nordic folklore twist.
All Hanna Heikkinen wants is to be reunited with her father again. After all, that's why she ventured into the dark and dangerous fantasy world of Tuonela, the Land of the Dead, in order to save his life. But this time her devotion to her father comes at a cost—her growing relationship with Tuoni, the God of Death himself, who held Hanna captive in exchange for her father's life. The last thing she expects is to feel remorse, yet the dark and sexy God is all she can think about.
Death has always prided himself on never trusting the living, but Hanna's apparent betrayal has left a scar fathoms deep. Vowing revenge on his future bride, and making sure she upholds her end of the bargain, Death sets out across his realm to steal Hanna back. But Death and Hanna aren't just fighting each other—malevolent Old Gods are rising to power within the realm, magic is being poisoned, and buried secrets are brought to light, secrets that may cause Hanna to lose everyone she loves dear once again.
Contains mature themes.

And impossible to put down story
after earning so much after the first book for a male voice, I'm left saying to myself, "careful of what you wish for".
I don't understand why the chapters aren't read by both voice actors simultaneously, representing the characters accordingly to their gender, but what leaves me wanting really is just an overall better performance by the male voice actor.
it's even mentioned on the first book, "death is anything but lazy", and yet, his lines are read in a lazy, sleazy tone, at the same time that they feel rushed.
I'm not expecting to hear someone say "I paused", with no pause at all. I'm expecting them to simply, pause.
it's like the actor was rushing through all the text, with no punctuation other than verbalising where some should be.
the story was still too good to let this affect my determination to see it through.
and even though the voice actors will probably remain the same, I'm eager for the third book, just as much as I was for the second one!

Amazing sequel
I loved this book. Hannah and Touni have to rebuild the trust and she has to face some harsh truths, as well as find out who she actually is. The story was epic, with all sort of battles, prophecies, training and lots of sexy times too. Can’t wait for the next book.

I had a good time listening to this audiobook
The female narrator is brilliant!
It was what mostly kept me interested in the story.
The male narrator is not that good…
The storyline is predictable but it was fun.

Devoured
This book moved faster than the first one and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The female narration was great and she felt as if she understood Hanna as a character. The male narration in terms of his voice was fab but I did feel like there was not as much acting.
