About this listen
More and more people are beginning to realize that we are being manipulated and lied to. We are denied access to secrets that shouldn’t be secrets. Our politicians obfuscate, deny, and outright lie. No one knows whom to trust. The nightly news is being replaced by carefully orchestrated propaganda. Our iPhones are monitored, as are our laptops and our landlines. As for social media, that too is ripe for spying by men in black suits. No wonder, then, that the last few years have seen an incredible rise in conspiracy theories about deceptions and cover-ups. They range from the controversial to the shocking and from the nightmarish to the downright terrifying.
From the dark agendas to restrict our access to the Internet and even ban books to suppressing cancer cures to ensure the pharmaceutical industry continues to reap gigantic profits and the murder of politicians, scientists, world leaders, and even Princess Diana in the name of national security, this book reveals dozens of nefarious conspiracies, plots, hidden agendas, and betrayals.

Worth a listen.
A very interesting and, at times harrowing read/listen. The narrator is easy to listen to and the book leaves you to pretty much make your own mind up regarding the subjects raised.

US Anti-Intellectualism
This author gives a reasonable over view of the utter stupidity of US anti intellectualism - even failing to comprehend that whilst criticising key aspects of it - he is also a product of it who cannot help expressing familiar and well worn tropes. Anti-China racism is present, as is a hero worshipping of the idiocy that is the work of George Orwell - the ex-imperialist police officer and hater of genuine Socialism! Furthermore, the US is the only country ever to have used nuclear weapons and a recent report suggests that the US military has killed between 20-30 million people around the world since 1945! The US is not the eternal victim but the eternal bully!

A bit of an eye roll
Firstly, I like Nick Redfern and have read loads of his books, and listened to him on countless podcasts. This book was a bit of an eye roll for the main part though - I don’t know if I’ve lost my patience for the whole conspiracy thing given what’s gone on in recent years in America (and increasingly the UK) but a lot of this was either so ridiculous I ended up skipping the chapter (the queen is a lizard) or I’ve heard the stories a hundred times before. It’s mildly entertaining as background noise but I did find myself zoning out a lot. Would probably hunt down other Nick Redfern books instead.
