Summary

She chose him. He chose revenge. But some choices have deadly consequences.

When Elise agreed to break a vicious curse over the man she loved, she never imagined he was a lost fae prince. But Valen left her to carry out vengeance for his slaughtered family. So when she joins the outlaw fae in their uprising against her own sister, all Elise wants is to forget the prince who holds her heart.

But fate has a different plan.

Reunited in the rescue of a mutual friend, Elise and Valen are forced to decide where they stand in the battle of crowns. As their passion reignites, so too do the dangers threatening to pull them apart for good: a strange magical blight infecting the land, betrayal by one of their own, and a devastating secret not even a fae prince saw coming.

The wicked game for the right to rule has begun. But who will save Elise and Valen from a dark magic with the power to destroy their love forever?

For fans of The Cruel Prince and The Shadows Between Us, this tale of a rebellious princess and a seductive prince is wickedly romantic.

StillSome similarities but good story on its own

My review of the first book pointed out similarities between this series and JLAs blood and ash series. There are still similarities but the storyline evolves and this series has become really good. I cannot wait to read book 3 and see what happens to Valen and Elise.

Another brilliant listen!

I really enjoyed this sequel. Elise Lysander is a really good FMC and I loved the introduction of some new characters as well as the development of some existing ones.

Good story, I enjoyed it.

I like the story line. I am a big fan of "other " book series simular. this is same but unique in its own way. which is fine by me. I like this genre.
the only nic pic.. very small, but because I can feel potential. each scene with feelings of shmut.or adventures, i think could have been deeper. more description, drag it out a bit. and plump it up.. that would have gained the 5 stars.i just found I was like "hey, what's this*ears prick" then poof. scene over. feeling like I'm wanting more from it.

A good second instalment of this story!

I overall enjoyed this book a lot more than the first book. I am looking forward to the final book in this series & the conclusion. For some reason I still haven’t fully engaged with the characters & I don’t find them riveting but will finish the story.
