Summary

With the precision of a surgeon, a serial killer preys on the most vulnerable souls of the world's city streets. The first victim: a sidewalk sleeper, found dead in New York City. No bruises, no signs of struggle. Just a laser-perfect, fist-sized hole where his heart had once been. Lieutenant Eve Dallas is assigned to investigate. But in the heat of a cat-and-mouse game with the killer, Dallas' job is suddenly on the line. Now her hands are tied...between a struggle for justice - and a fight for her career.
Crack another case with Eve Dallas.

Loved it!

I love J.D. Robb's 'in Death' series. The interaction between Eve Dallas and her aide is just super with the right amount of humour. With the action set 40'ish years from now, there are still people who need help and those willing to give it, without making this a post-war setting. Susan Ericksen reads it very well. Worth a credit.

Intense stuff

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would always recommend the in death series to people but I would recommend they don't begin with this book. This is the most intense of the in death books so far and I think you need to know the characters well to appreciate it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Eve and Roarke always

Which character – as performed by Susan Ericksen – was your favourite?

Roarke with his lovely way of speaking and Irish accent.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book was very emotive for me. Eve is so strong. The part with testing was awful but amazing at the same time.

Any additional comments?

Read the first books before reading this one. It is brilliant.
