About this listen
In 2014, a media storm erupted when Gwyneth Paltrow announced her separation from Chris Martin, describing it as a harmonious and mutual 'conscious uncoupling' and the term entered the world's vocabulary overnight. Coined and created by relationship expert Katherine Woodward Thomas, the expression 'conscious uncoupling' has become synonymous with a divorce where both partners accept that they each played a role in the breakup and, in particular, are looking to co-parent in a functional and healthy way in the future.
The Conscious Uncoupling five-step process is designed to support separating couples through the thorny terrain of a breakup, helping them to consciously complete a relationship in ways that leave all involved whole, healthy and well, and optimistic about future relationships.
Conscious Uncoupling offers a new paradigm for divorcing couples and is set to become a classic in the genre.

unfortunately not as ground breaking as expected
you can basically understand the book by accepting to take 100% responsibility for yourself and being a person of sustance.
I can appreciate the concepts, particularly in light of divorce, infidelity and hookup culture.

Very Good
Powerful material on how to let go of relationships in the best possible way. I could see the process potentially saving/reviving relationships because of how the conversations are being conducted—allowing each other to be seen and heard.

One of the most important books you''ll ever read.
What a great storyteller Katherine is.
And having her reading her own book was a blast.
I will soon start reading another book from her (particularly if she also reads it).
Prepare yourself for a treat.

Helpful but very American
I found this guide tremendously helpful, even though I often found myself having to do cultural translation work - this book is clearly written from the perspective of a middle-class American woman and targets American readers above all.
