How can a child vanish without a trace?

Last night, 8-year-old Daisy Mason disappeared from a summer party at her home. No one at the party noticed her leave. Even her parents aren't sure of the last time they saw her. DI Adam Fawley is trying to keep an open mind. But he knows that in nine cases out of ten, it's someone close to the victim.

When a pair of bloody tights is discovered, Fawley's worst suspicions are concerned.

Someone knows where Daisy is.
And her time is running out.

Introducing DI Fawley and his team of Oxford detectives, Close to Home is the first in the new crime series readers and authors are raving about.

Real intriguing mystery

I just couldn’t stop listening to this heart stopping heartfelt book. The narration was excellent and the twists turns red herrings numerous! Also the lead detective’s own background was another mystery you were intrigued by. Can’t wait to get another by this author.

Not the best book for audiobooks

The story started slowly. And what was really annoying was that there were constantly Twitter comments read out. Firstly didn’t much see the point of them in the story. Just a waste of time. But then having them read to you with all the twitter account details, hashtag etc... sometimes 10-15 in a row..... really boring. For that reason wouldn’t recommend.

Gripping story

Fantastic narration of a gripping story, full of twists and turns. Loved it, right until the end. Did have to concentrate on the timeline, as it skipped back and forth.

Didn’t hold my attention

It was mediocre. The constant twitter references were really irritating. It had a good twist but it was still quite bland. It’s such a shame because it sounded like it would be a book I would really enjoy.

Worth a listen.

Very good story but the telling got a little repetitive with all the Twitter references. Unusual to have the story running backwards but it works. Will give the next one a try.
