About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

The electrifying new Alex Delaware thriller from the number one New York Times best-selling master of suspense.

At 5 a.m. in the upscale neighbourhood of Westwood Village, two removal men are making a routine pick-up when they make a fatal hit. It's a man - who appeared from nowhere - naked and with no means of identification.

Not long after, a woman is found dead in a house nearby, which neighbours suspect to be a brothel. Could the man have come from there?

When LAPD homicide lieutenant Milo Sturgis calls brilliant psychologist Alex Delaware is called to the scene, the case gets even more complicated. Delaware has met the woman before. She's a psychologist, too.

Are the two deaths linked? Or is there a darker force at work?

Flawless

Alex and Milo are back at their investigative best. A very easy listening experience. A must.

Great as ever

I’ve been reading Jonathan Kellerman books for over 20 years and they never disappoint me. Great plots, great characters and intelligent writing.

Pretty good as always.

One of the few authors that I’ve been reading for years that doesn’t disappoint. Good story and writing and never seems to be any silly gaps in the story. Narration is good on the whole apart from the reader making Mo Green sound like Bullwinkle, he could go with changing that voice.

Another great book from the Doc

Jonathan Kellerman is so reliable and this another great story from his Alex Delaware series. Nicely narrated by John Rubinstein, who manages to produce different voices for all the characters and injects some real drama and humour. His Milo is particularly great - just the right balance of gruff and warmth. I'd recommend starting from the beginning - it's a great series with an unusual angle (child psychologist who helps out the cops) and he portrays LA and its crazy inhabitants really well.

So disappointing

I have loved the Alex Delaware books since the first one I read and pre-ordered this as I was so eager. The story seems interesting but I could not finish because of the narration. The female voices bordered on the offensive. As soon as I had bought a copy to read I returned this title. My advice would be to listen to a sample to see if you like the narrator.
