About this listen

For three years, Rixon Caldwell has been the most lethal gamer online. He is undefeated in international play, and his stream is viewed by millions of avid fans each and every day.

When an unsigned email arrives inviting him to beta test the newest, most immersive MMO ever, Circuit World, he discounts the offer out of hand. For him, offers like this one are a daily event. He’s a brand, and charity is not his default setting.

When he moves to delete the email, his laptop screen vanishes, replaced with a glowing black and green MS DOS screen with a simple question: Do you accept our challenge? Y/N

Warning: This audiobook contains nontraditional relationships, violence, and a harem.

where is the story going?

Promising start, and generally enjoyed the performance and story but ultimately the main interest of the story, e.g how the main character ends up in the universe, why, are their other 'real' characters etc never materialises. feels like the first few chapters of a bigger book.
Also, the sex/romance in this book is frankly turgid, maybe a 12 year old might have penned this aspect?

Okay

I really wanted to enjoy this, but found it very bog standard. The story lagged in places and I found the narrator sounded like he was phoning it in. Shame.

Not for me

I didn't enjoy this book at all. The actual story had potential but I stopped listening after maybe 3 chapters. I was having problems with his arrogance to start with but it's not the first story with a knobhead as the mc I've read so I kept going. But after several really obnoxious comments 'thought' about a female character I just had enough. I'm pretty sure Mr Pierce is either 16 or 76 and watched a lot of 70s adult material.... if you know what I mean.

mediocre at best

the Beta Testing aspects in the computer world was unnecessary and didn't really go anywhere. the world name being Circuiy World doesn't really fit.

circuit world

An interesting twist on a gamers world although this has been done before and through many Anime cartoons and books this book made it quite interesting to learn some of the inner thinking's of a gamer

Slow

The story itself was pretty good to be fair. However, the narrative was to slow for this style of scrip. If there is a book 2 in the future I will try it out, but it needs to be executed better.

Mediocre story spoiled by a whiny teenage sounding narrator.

This was a pretty standard story of a person entering a mmorpg world and gradually levelling up. The basics were there but for some reason you were made to dislike the main character from the beginning. This was made worse by the teenage sounding whiny narrator; speaking like that not just when the character was talking but in the third person too.
Then come the sex scenes … really badly done and totally unneeded. The character was supposed to be 25 I believe but his sexual maturity was that of a fifteen year old. The scenes consisted of him grabbing a breast while the other party grabbed his “member” and then they had sex for thirty seconds and the female involved had an orgasm.
If this is the standard of this Author and Narrator, I will not be choosing any other books with either involved.
