Summary

Happy-go-lucky journalist Summer has always managed to focus on the silver lining. But nothing in her life has prepared her for her husband Seth’s recent revelation: He wants a six-month break from their marriage.

Determined to stay positive, Summer decamps to Jersey to spend six months by the sea, where every passing week makes Seth more of a distant memory. Then she meets sweet, charming Jude, whose life seems to be on permanent hold even before he receives devastating news of his own. To both of them, their chance encounter feels like fate, and with Summer’s encouragement Jude embarks on a bucket list of experiences that seem to bond them for life.

When they’re together, the world is alive with possibilities, but as Christmas approaches, their time is running out in more ways than one. Will they return to the lives they left behind - or take a chance on an unknown future?

Lighthouse

This is the best production on audio books by Rebecca Boxall. She writes so evocatively and brings everything to life.

A great British, Christmas romance

It started really slow and depressing but I am glad I ploughed through because it became great. Turned out to be great 😊 The story starts with terrible knees for both and, as I went in blind I thought it would be a sad and depressing story throughout. From part 2 it gets better and the couple manage to overcome it all and enjoy their hea.
The narration was outstanding.

Pretty Good

I'm not a massive fan of chick lit so I was a bit dubious about buying this ( I actually only looked at the book initially as I searched on the narrator who is excellent) but as the previous recommendation was so good I thought I would give it a go. It's a nice book with a reasonable story line and I wasn't sorry I bought it. If you want something that is easy going and pleasant then this is a good choice.

Very enjoyable

I’ve read all of Rebeccas books and this one didn’t disappoint. This was the first audio and it was a nice, easy listen. I liked the characters, the story was good and the it all wrapped up nicely for me. Looking forward to the next.

An easy listen

Rather unbelievable but a lovely piece of escapism. Elizabeth Knoweldon is excellent though as always.

An forgettable story

This story is not for me. Mainly because although the storyline material could have been portrayed in a powerful way.... it wasn’t. As a cancer nurse it was unrealistic and over generalised. Where did Judes income come from? No money worries???? And as for a water birth at 34 weeks in almost 40 year old mum!!! I think most unlikely. It could have been so much more.
